Hi Nicky and welcome. E-cigs are not classed as a quitting device, more an alternative to smoking. That said, they are are a big step in the right direction. There are lots of options and you will get some great advice here, so stick around and all your questions will be answered.

Hello & welcome Nicky As you are a light smoker, something like the standard 510 or 901 would most likely suite you. Off to find some links for the best deals for you

The secret is then Nicky, to only use it when you feel the need to. It's not so much about the strength of the cigs that you smoke, more about satisfying the craving, if you know what I mean

Yes, but he may be better suited to a Riva kit if he smokes more and is looking for a direct replacement.
The 510 is suited to light use and beginners.
Basically, it comes down to battery power. The Riva batteries will last 3-4 times as long as the 510 and they also allow the use of larger e-liquid carriers, such as cartomisers.
But, I dont want to confuse things too much for you.

In all honesty, it sounds like the Riva is the better alternative, based on the amount you both smoke.
Why not consider a kit between you to start with and give it a try.
It seems very complex, but it really isn't, if you just take one step at a time.
