I think you will be fine with the e-liquid that you have ordered Nicky. Have a look on Youtube and there are lots of helpful videos if you search for 510 Riva, such as this one Once you get used to your new kit, you may then move onto cartomisers which are a combined version of the atomiser and cartridges that come with your kit. The advantage to them is that they can hold more e-liquid and so require less filling. An example of them is here Seems a lot of information, but it soon becomes obvious once you get cracking. Any questions just keep asking

thanks for that Jason, can't wait to get it and get going, it just worried me as i know sometimes when i light a cig up for hubby it sends me into a coughing fit because his are so much stronger than mine and the low juice i ordered was 11mg which is twice the strength of my cigs.
For the first time ever i feel quite excited (sad i know) that i may be able to eventually come off the fags!

E-liquid strength is a little different to that of traditional cigs Nicky, so don't worry to much about the 'mg' (you may find that it's just right or that you need to move to a higher strength).
I used to smoke 20-25 light's a day and I find 18mg to be right for me, others use 36mg so it's more about whats right for you personally, rather than the 'mg'.

Nicky, for yourself, I'd recommend a medium strength e-liquid & for your hubby a high to extra high. If you find them too string, you can always cut them with vegetable Glycerine - you can buy a small bottle for about 50p form most supermarkets in the baking section or a larger bottle from chemists for about £1.20. Seriously you will learn to love glycerine Nicky Don't worry about all your questions. I always say to folk who want to use the e-cig do your research first!!!!...so you're being fine. Hugs... Anyhow if using 36mg liquid for hubby (and he finds it too strong) and I take it you'll be using pre flavoured for now (I'm on vanilla and have loads if you want me to send you some and some coffee if you want that too...just a wee amount for you to try).... So dilution (I'm a newbie vapour and on 30mg/ml and I was on 30 cigs a day+).... Nicotine/ml wanted (x)/nicotine per ml in bottle (y) x amount wanted (a) = nicotine (pre flavoured) needed... hence we have x/y*a = N.... top up the rest with 80:20 glycerine/water and you'll be fine.. any more glycerine and you're liable to chog up things..... Get some wee syringes and measuring cups from the chemist or online and a wee box (the small really useful box from staples is quite good) for all your alchemy LOL... and some blunt needles (they have to be blunt) and you're away... Also order some 30ml and some 5/10ml bottles with drip caps for topping up and some drip tips (very cheap)....good investment..... this to me would be a standard newbie kit... Debate over cartomisers/atomisers and cartridges...to me if it's 6 and half a dozen... If you run out of filla for your cartridges try fluval or polyester wadding from the local aquariam shop (again think I might have some if you want some)... Hope I've been of help Joh

Thats good to hear perpetua, i'm hoping to start off on the nicotine juice and soon get off it to nicotine free but still have the act of smoking (if you see what i mean). I've been told that if the nictotine juice is too strong for me i can mix it with vegetable glycerine, so i have just been looking on my supermarket website and they just have glycerine for 75p, doesn't say anything else so i am assuming it is veg glycerine, am i correct? Boots is cheaper..you can get about 300mls there (will last you yonks) for about £2.50 or even superdrug/savers Jo

You can fill cartridges and cartomisers straight from the bottle Nicky, no problem.
Jo has also given you some options which you may prefer using.

Belated hello and welcome to the forum You can fill the cartridges directly with the juice you have ordered, if the juice is too strong then you can add some of the glycerin to it to water them down a bit then just order a lower nic next time. Just saves you wasting juice because it is too high nic content. Everyone is different and even someone who smokes full strength cigs can find high nic juice too much so it's all about finding what is right for you.

I didn't charge mine for that long i'm sure. I just charged them until the charger said they were fully charged lol. They usually come with a bit of factory charge in them anyway.

Hi Nicky As Collie said, the batteries usually are at least part charged. To test this, just screw on the atomiser (not too tight) and press the button for just a second or 2 and the atomiser will crackle if the battery has charge in it. If it does, just check that you have enough liquid in your cartridge foam. You can also add a drop or 2 directly onto the steel bridge in the atomiser just to prime it. Then give it another go
