Greetings all! My partner and I first started using SkyCigs about 2 years ago - but the flavours were limited and harsh - and I could never seem to manage to refill them myself! So it was costing a considerable sum. Then we went through a phase of getting very bad cartomizers from them - they either cut out after a few puffs, didn't fit correctly into their batteries, or simply didn't work. Their customer service was quite frankly a joke and eventually we ended up back on the stinkies as the whole thing had pretty much put us off vaping. However, we are desperate to get back to vaping. We have purchased e-lites from my local supermarket to tie us over until I find a decent-quality vaping vendor. What do you guys think to VapeEscape? A good place to start? Thanks in advance! Katy

Vape Escape and Jason who runs it is very good. He will be able to give you good advice. Some people get on well with cigalikes, what you have been using, and like the feel of the small ecig and some just do not, but it gets better value and more satisfying for many to move onto something better like an ego battery and CE4 which would be the nest step. If you feel it s too large for you and conspicuous then try something in between like 510 batteries with tank system atomisers. However I suggest ego batteries and small atomisers on top is the way to go and if it works for you am sure it will not be long before you want to try larger rebuildable atomisers which will work with ego batteries or you can go for larger mods. Personally I really enjoyed using my Joyetech EgoT -upgrade mod which uses a separate rechargeable battery, big step up money wise but still cheaper than your skycigs or E-lites. So there you have it from me ...ego/ce4 or ce5 and similar or small battery mod with small tank atomisers and Jason will be able to help you, I am sure of that. Do not be surprised if it takes a while to find what works for you, but keep at it and you will after time and will not look back. Skycigs got me off smoking, but they dd not keep me off it, I needed something with a bit more ooomph but still do enjoy the occassional vape on my cigalikes. Oh and I forgot, I should have welcomed you to the forums...oops!

I started on Skycigs and used them for a month as I cut down on the fags and upped my use of the e-cigs. Then I was 100% Skycigs for another two weeks, albeit adding e-juice from Jacvapour.
Okay, Skycig cigalikes are not "proper" vaping, and, as you say, their customer service is atrocious, but they did get me from a 40 fags a day habit onto e-cigs and into the wonderful world of Vaping and Vapers, so I guess they are not all bad.
I was very fortunate that I bought my first vaping kit from Jason at Vape Escape and I have subsequently bought most of the rest of my equipment there. He is good as is the stuff he sells. You will not go wrong buying your kit there.

Hi. Thanks! Yes - I would not go near Sky Cigs again - I learned a valuable lesson that cost me lots of money - but such is life. It happens to us all at some point! I was looking at either the Riva you both listed above or the Vision 1000. Now I know I need to buy the e-liquid - but do I need to purchase anything else initially? Or will that set me up for a decent length of time? Obviously I assume I'll need to buy replacement clearomisers/cartomizers/atomizers at some point. Also - zeldamum - love the pic of your pup!

It was the Vision 1000 kit that I bought from Vape Escape over a year ago and the batteries and charger are still going strong today. I have since bought other tops to go with these and I have replaced the heads in the clearos, but over all I reckon the Vision 1000 is a good bit of kit and it will last you a long time.

Ooh. Posted that and suddenly there were a whole bunch of other posts! Haha! Thank you to you all - all advice is greatly appreciated - as is the warm welcome! I'm weaning back off the real cigs with the e-lites while I'm looking at decent kits - and waiting for payday to roll around next week so I can buy everything I need in one fell swoop! So yes, I think VapeEscape may be the way to go for me!

Welcome to the forum I bought the RIva kit form Vapescape 9 months ago and it's been surpassed by bigger and better but still going strong now. Can't go wrong with it for a starter kit tbh and Vapescape have always been very good as well for me.

T'others have pointed you in the right direction, although you were heading that way anyway. So, hi, Katy & welcome to the forum & enjoy your much better kit, once it has arrived.

Hi Katy & good to hear you re having another go with the vaping, i started out with a v2 cigalike which didn't really work for me, then i found this forum & with the advice of the good peeps on here i got the riva kit from Ukecigcabin that you have been linked to above & have not wanted to smoke since. When starting out again don't go for huge quantities of liquids as your tastes change that quick that you could end up wasting your money, heres a link www.joosejuice.co.uk where they do 10ml tasters for £1.49 & they are quite nice. Good luck
