£36,000 a day? Pffft, I wouldn't get out of bed for less than £50,000 a day Sent from somewhere. I'm probably procrastinating again!!!

WARNING... A Rant...
Having had a day to reflect on the recent transfer monies and salaries paid to various 'humans' with the ability to kick a 'bag of wind', I hereby declare that I will NOT watch another football match with 'paid' players.
I've never been a 'follower' for several years since the 'stupid' money came in, but now it has gone 'beyond the pale' and I feel physically sick over this affair when these clubs and players seem to think they are worthy of such rewards, while fleecing their supporters of 'hard earned' cash.
How they sleep at night is beyond me, I know I sound jealous, but I'm not, it's just OBSCENE & IMMORAL! I hate them with all my passion for bringing the 'human race' into disrepute. Anyone out there, looking down, would be saying 'WTF' is going on down there (I'm not even going to mention the horrendous troubles in the Middle East).
Can we please all get a grip of what is important in this world instead of worshiping 'paper' idols. ???

I watched a programme at a friends house, no idea what it was ( I don't watch tv ) but it was showing real footballers in a nightclub, they were drinking bottles of crystal or rather pouring it all over, and then rolling up £50 notes into the neck of the bottle and setting fire to them, it made my blood boil, whilst they were amusing themselves doing that there were hundreds of real humans bedding down on cardboard for the night

I've never understood it. You could understand if by buying a certain player, the club suddenly got another 1 million supporters paying £85 to watch the team play on satellite TV. But? They could have bought me for £85,000 and I'll play for £1,000 per game. Can you punt the ball around a football pitch with a 3 iron?

Raffles I know you have washed your hands of the modern day football, but who was or perhaps still is your club?

I've just had a letter from the DWP to tell me that the depression/anxiety (which my GP has certified) is not a real illness and that from now on I shall be getting NO money. That £36,000 for one day's work would pay off my outstanding mortgage.

That £36,000 for one day's work would pay off my outstanding mortgage. This unfortunately is the real world that most of us know. I have a friend around 50 years old. He was laid off at work, firm struggling. No redundancy etc. He lives in a council flat in a very rough area since he split from his wife, which has 2 bedrooms. He went to sign on and couldn't have any money at first until it all went through. He managed to get a few weeks work on minimum wage with an agency which confused his claim further. He eventually got some money from jobseekers £71 per week, but he has to pay towards his second bedroom which he never asked for and his water rates, so he is left with just over £50 per week. Gas, electric, food, mobile phone which the job centre insist you have ( a number ) , tv licence, house insurance, bus fares , and money for stamps. Not easy. One morning he was about to leave the house to sign on and he had tummy trouble, so he got held up, then once ok, he had to get to the jobcentre. In the end he was late. They told him because he was late he was getting sanctioned, he explained he had been ill, they implied how convienient so he told them he has had a dodgy tummy for a few days, to which they replied that in that case he wasn't entitled to money for the previous week either as he was sick. As if £50 per week is not bad enough they then stopped his money for 2 weeks and claimed back the previous week This is someone who has always worked, in minimum wage hard jobs yes, but always worked.

I have helped a few people with difficulties fill in the form, can you hold a pen? well of course you can you are filling in their stupid form. Can you lift one arm as if to put something in a shirt pocket, yes, but you can not for whatever reason function physically or mentally to ensure that you get to work for a stipulated time, and can work hard for 8 hours, then repeat it all for 5 days. Iain Duncan Smith needs shooting he is a complete and utter idiot. The only reason the unemployment figures have dropped is because they have refused to pay people money , sanctioned them or put them on training courses. The form is extremely limited for anyone with any illness of the mind to qualify. Your gp, specialists view does not count, Atos know best. Forget going to Lourdes go to see them and you are cured in 20 minutes.

The only reason the unemployment figures have dropped is because they have refused to pay people money , sanctioned them or put them on training courses. Plus if you're able to get part time employment, over 16 hours a week . . . that also takes you out of JSA and off the unemployment stats. The fact that a part time job with limited hours won't pay you enough to live, is irrelevant. You've been removed from the stats so that someone somewhere has a pat on the back, can publish a massaged set of figures and congratulate themselves for achieving a target.
