Morning all!
Hope everyone is well! I haven’t posted for a while but pleased to report still stinky free and both my wife and I have passed the 2 month mark now! Yay us!!
The reason I’ve popped back is to pick your brains, more so those who own a spinner, as I’ve got one that is behaving quite oddly!
We are both using Evods and they are all coiled to 1.9ohms but the performance of these differs greatly depending on which spinner they are attached to.
The one that my wife uses barely needs to be above 3.3volts and this gives a great throat hit and a really nice vape.
On the other hand, the one that I am using doesn’t even get close to that when it’s turned all the way up to 4.8volts – the only way that I feel I’m getting any throat hit at all is when I’m using a rather strong menthol juice and even then the spinner needs to be turned up to 4volts before I’m satisfied.
If the evod attached has our normal juice you can barely taste it and until the battery is cranked up to full you wouldn’t really know that you’re vaping.
I’ve tried all our Evods on both spinners and the results are the same so it must be something to do with the battery.
Any ideas boys and girls?

Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the spinner and maybe lifting the pin a bit as could be a poor connection. Sent from my Galaxy Note 2

I've cleaned it and I've tried to pull the centre pin up a bit put it feels like it will pop off so although it moves I don't think I ever raise it up!

It sounds like its not been correctly calibrated before final assembly, from What you say it's consistently below the indicated output. If its new then contact your vendor, if you have had it for the two months then They may argue you have now accepted it as is, never hurts to ask though as Most sensible sellers want to keep customers happy.

It wasn't like this when I bought it they both worked exactly the same. This has developed over the course of the last couple of weeks.

nfollows1982 have a look at the heads on the evods, i have a spinner & a twist & both were working perfectly until i cleaned them & changed the heads last Wednesday, then all of a sudden no matter how high the volts were turned up to i was getting nothing, no taste, satisfaction or anything & after 4 days of trying different things & really on the edge ready to have a fag i decided to compare the heads side by side, i immediately noticed the old head had a short central pin approx quarter inch & the new heads pin was slightly longer approx half inch. I put the old heads back in to my clearo & all was back to normal, so i have ordered some more short pin heads from Fasttech as i only have 4 short ones & about 20 long ones.

Right, well I've just had the spinner hooked up to a multimeter and the voltage is measuring ok - actually reads at 5.12v when the dial at the bottom is on the 4.8v level. So that should mean that the battery should behave as it should.
I just can't figure out where the difference is in the performance between the 2 especially when I'm using exactly the same evods to test on each one.

nfollows1982 If the battery voltage at the 510 connector is correct then the problem MUST be the connection between the evod and the 510 connector? ???

It could possibly be the pin pushed down, if it starts arking in use then the Spinner short protection could be going on and off meaning the coil keeps Cooling as the power goes off intermittently. Probably a bit of a long shot though.

If you are getting good voltage out and the evods all work fine on the other battery then it must be the connection. (Only other option is high internal resistance under load). Likely culprit is the grommet under the centre pin has crushed down slightly allowing the pin to sit a fraction lower. The best way to test is any atty with a sprung centre pin (or a set of VO mod leads for your meter ) You can try lightly raising the centre pin with a tiny screwdriver or similar, lever up gently at 3 or more places around the pin. You are only looking for half a millimeter movement, if it comes out you can push it back in, if you break it I can fix it. Ideally you would then test with a carto or other very hissy atty. Hold in the fire button and slowly screw in until you get a crackle/hiss. Then test for vape. If you have a soldering iron you can put a small blob of solder onto the centre pin of the carto instead to check it the pin on the battery has dropped..
