Does anyone else think it would be a good idea for juice sellers to add purchase date to bottles of juice?
I had a couple of juices that I have had a while & completely forgot when I bought them, so I have decided to pour them out just in case they had "gone off".
I know it would be difficult putting a best before date on the bottles of juice, but I think it would be helpful to at least have a purchase date label on each bottle bought.

Nah. Juices last up to two years in the bottle. Mine won't be around more than a few months. 5ml of Griz's Banoffee lasted a day an a half Mind you it was in a triple coil and I think that eats the juice up.

As far as I'm aware.
I tend to ignore Best Before Dates anyway.
Worst that will happen is the flavour will have dropped off I imagine.

I ignore best before dates for most things if I'm honest Hissie . . . and your juices will keep fine even opened in a cool dark place for at least a couple of years, it's heat/direct sunlight they won't like.
They'd probably keep longer, I remember Eastmall Di saying she'd used some over 3 years old that were ok . . . the only thing is that if they're in plastic bottles the flavour can leech into the plastic, which it doesn't in glass bottles, so you'd maybe need to top up the flavouring.

I would also recommend storing your juices in glass bottles if you plan on keeping them for longer than 6 months, I keep my Nic juice in glass bottles and store it in the fridge.
Flavourings, PG and VG can be kept for a couple of years quite safely, after which I personally would replenish them, although I've heard that PG and VG can be kept indefinitely.
I've never frozen juices myself but believe it is quite OK to do so.
As for sell by dates, I mix my juices fresh anyway and never mix in bulk so don't see any need for any time limits.
As mentioned keep all juices out of the light and heat and they will last a long, long time.

I'm not bothered about best before date, just a purchase date so can keep an eye on how long I've had the juice.
Where do you buy glass bottles from Griz?

Hissie, I reckon your best bet is probably to write on your bottles (if possible) or add a little sticker with a date on it when they get delivered. Just month & year would be fine but that way you could keep track of them for your own benefit.
I know some sellers do have 'Best Before' dates but I actually asked Simon at Liberro about this one time a while ago because his don't. He said he'd looked into this and as the contents are not a foodstuff there isn't any requirement to indicate a 'consume by' or 'Best Before' date in the labelling regulations.
Myself, I rather think it is the flavourings which are likely to degrade over time rather than the nicotine, PG or VG, and this is the main reason why liquids are probably at their best and more enjoyable while they're fresher.

Thanks Perpy.
Think I'll buy myself some glass bottles from ebay & decant all the juice into them.
I do like the 10ml bottles aswell.

I believe you can purchase glass bottles from Boots and certain chemists. I get mine from a friend who works in the pharmaceutical supplies industry.
