got a fat boy spinner couple of months back and subconsciously tend not to use it cos it doesnt feel comfortable(size weight etc) anyway i never really notice til i started using it last night but it constantly cutting out i understand it has an 8 sec cut off which is fine but i vape intensely and every 2nd puff i take the lights starts flashing straight away....and have to wait a few seconds to be able which is driving me bonkers.
i normally take double or even triple puffs and quite frequently in short space of time so im not getting a decent drag anyone have any feedback on this?
ecf said it was gunked up threading but i cleaned it and its still happening.
p.s. dont get this problem with joytechs or cheap chinese ones

The 8 second cut off is annoying however I do a split second off and back on again without stopping inhaling. I have not noticed it with mine.

I thought timed cutouts worked on so many seconds in so many seconds, ie even if you split Your 10 seconds over two presses with a tiny gap, it would add them together. I know some batteries can't be tricked, no idea if yours works that way.

yeh the 8 secs isnt a problem its when i take 2nd puff straight after it cuts out straight away......so i have to to wait 4 or 5 secs to take another
its strange cos its only when i start sucking it cuts out...if i just push the button without i can hold it for ages(like if im dry burning or something)
i was thinking maybe theres a current problems on the board or it has a lower current rating than other egos.
its definelty not the threading or connector as ive tried wobbling my clearos as im vaping and it doesnt cut out cos of that.

It may have nothing at all to do with your problem kingofswords but the go-to first base solution is turn your battery off and then gently ease the centrepin up a bit with a cocktail stick of pair of tweezers. It may be that the pin has become depressed (not enough use! LOL) and just needs a bit more height to make a good contact. I had a similar problem a few weeks back with one of my Protanks on my Spinner, and it turned out that I hadn't quite screwed the atty head home tight in the PT and it wasn't making a firm contact with the battery pin. A but of gentle persuasion and all was sorted. Worth a try . . .

2.5 ohms des but its happening with everything i try(evods, old dc's ce5 ce3s etc ) its gotton to the point where as soon i my lips touch the mouthpiece its starts flashing, without even sucking
chykensa yeh the connections fine, im always really careful when screwing things on but can feel it making connection plus my ce5s have a springy centre pin
spikus do you know what he did to fix it?
i thinking it might be a split gorment although can imagine how it split as its only had 10-20 charges

kingofswords, the jury is still out on this one. The symptoms are indicative of a head short and that's where I went with spikus' Spinner. After insulating the post and replacing the grommet the symptoms persist. I've checked the other main connections and all seem good. It's looking like a failed component or manufacturing fault somewhere on the board. When I get a good board to compare it against I'll let you know what I find.

May not be pertinent but, when I bought my Spinners from Toni at Ecigcabin, she did advise charging them at 4.3v, don't know if this makes a difference or not.

I've not seen a dedicated Spinner charger but almost all domestic 3.7v chargers output 4.2v. Not many people have a DC power supply with selectable voltage. Can you check your Spinner charger Phoenix . and see what the output voltage is please?

Just got a new one so should be ok. Output 5v on the plug DC 4.2v 420mA So it's 5v out from USB port and then charges the Spinner at 4.2v @ 420mAh. I wonder where Toni got 4.3v from then?

I don't know Raid, but I don't see it on the site now, I will contact her and ask when she returns from holiday as I have been wondering that too.
