Nailed it! I now have a 1.1 ohm microcoil with silica for on my mech mod and a 1.9 ohm micro coil with cotton for use on my vamo. Think I might be getting the hang of this now =D

Be patient each it each time you re-coil because when you get complacent it will turn round and bit you on the ass I know it sounds strange but every time I re-coil I tend to listen to classical music ( it was something I found during my dissertation for uni to help calm me and focus myself for the task ahead ) as it helps to calm me when I get frustrated, but seriously listen to calming music when you do it and when you do not get the ohms you want you will not feel like throwing your vv/vw or mod out of the window. Sometimes even now when I do not get the ohms I want I just concentrate on the music and I tend to feel a lot better when I re-coil

I agree, it does take a certain frame of mind to recoil successfully. If I recoil in a hurry, I can guarantee it will go lady bumps upward, but with plenty of time and some Clifford Brown or Bill Evans on the iPod, all is sweetness and light! Music has always help my concentration - even when I was studying for my 'O' Levels (yes, I'm that old!), I had to listen to music, much to my parents' dismay!
