Hey all
Its now 4am.. and as usual I'm up and looking for things to look at on the internet before I go to sleep.
As well as generally being a "night person" anyway, I had heart surgery 12 weeks ago so have been keeping funny hours.
It seems I'm kinda the only person awake and going to bed at this sort of time most nights due to naps at odd times of day
Do any of you have weird sleeping hours, or work nights etc?

I'm up as well We forgot to put a nappy on our little-un before bed last night so I have just changed his bedding etc... doh! Once I'm awake then I get up and can't go back to sleep, so here I am 4.40am with a long day at work ahead... sigh....

I find that as I get older I don't need a lot of sleep ... around 5 hours usually does me .. might be nature's way of telling me that time is running out so make the best of it LOL.

I go through phases, I try to have a sensible routine, but at other times I am awake all night (normally due to pain) and then sleep most of the day. Ive recently got out of a long phase of that which is a relief as my depression is never good when I am in that mode.
That said I am still in bed now as a) am too sore to move and waiting for tablets to kick in and b) I am exhausted!!!
On a side note I clicked on this topic as I thought you meant funny habits like sleep walking, eating etc of which I have a few; I sleep talk a LOT especially if I am sleeping somewhere other than in bed (ie in the car), when I am just drifting off or when Chris gets up in the morning (between 4:30 & 5:30) a lot of the time it is something to do with bananas which are of course, purple! I can even hold completely random conversations.
If I am having a bad dream I shout and scream, whilst thrashing around, or sitting up and have been known to thrash out at Chris.
Most embarrassing though is my ability to sleep text. The texts are not even gobbledygook, although they are fairly random, and are sent to people I have been texting or talking to or even thinking of. The most embarrassing was texting my dog trainer, who is thankfully a good friend now but wasn't quite sio much at the time "there is grass growing out of your ears" I also had a whole text conversation with a friend (well now exfriend but we were friends at the time) about needing to find a psychiatrist for Goofy as his moustache was making him suicidal!! Go figure!

I have a very erratic sleep pattern. Well, actually, there isn't a pattern and that's the problem. Due to my spinal problems there is never a period during the day or night that I am not experiencing some degree of pain. Even with morphine it is still there. I have to get myself to a point where it is dulled enough to allow myself to nod off. This means I often nap during the day to catch up on what I miss at night. I find it so frustrating as it affects every aspect of my life.
As an example, I know I am going to the LSE meet up tomorrow night. This means I have to assess how much sleep I get tonight and then try to dose up on pain meds to get a nap before getting ready to go out. Oh how I yearn for the days I just fall asleep all night and face the next day refreshed and alert!
