I purchased a tank that uses cartos and want to make it my everyday work horse, but I have been putting the carto to the test today and if I am honest the flavour is terrible. I have a LR DC boge carto filled using the condom method and it does not really taste of anything, the throat hit and vapor is great though lol. I have filled the tank twice since trying the set up so I have put some juice through the carto.
Have I done something wrong in setting it up or am I asking to much from a carto? I am comparing it to my KFL, but when I say no flavour I mean there is near on none.
I am thinking about purchasing a diver to over come the problem as I love the tank, but I really hoped cartos would cut the mustard.

I agree with BalllsyMaybe the cartos you bought are just not up to much for flavour. Then again, expecting a £1.00 cart to match a £70 atomizer isn't a good comparison. I wish I could be more helpful. What sort of tank is it?

Obviously you've punched the cartos ? And the hole/holes are not covered by bottom of the tank ?

Ginge I was the same when using boge cartos but since changing to smok cartos I find they are a far better vape . I have one of the diver like atties from greyhaze and u are welcome to have it if u want. I can't be bothered with the hassle of recoiling it. If u want it pm me and I'll post it to you

It just goes to show how peoples taste differs. I tried the smok cartos and couldn't wait to finish them so I could put another Boge on my tank.

This is why I assumed I had done something wrong lol. Im using a prive tank, the holes are punched both sides using a carto punch and both sit above the bottom of the deck. I know juice is getting through and it keeps up well. I have vaped it from 3.4v all the way upto 5v with no dry hits (its a hot vape at 5v lol) gordy180 that is a very kind offer, it is appreciated

Kanger carto's have always been my carto of choice, Boges were one of the few things I never got on with Ginge. But I still don't think they compare to an Evod or Davide for flavour. Again it's all down to that elusive personal taste thing.

Again it's all down to that elusive personal taste thing. I wanted to give cartos a try as I heard and watched good things about them plus it would be easy and cheap to change them, I can't expect them to work as well as a £70 atty and was not thinking they would, but there is no taste at all lol. If I want to make vape clouds though they seem great

Cartos rock! I've been using them since day one.
I avoid LR's though and stick with 2.2-2.4 Ohms. Even the DC's I use in tanks are about 2 Ohm.
I can send you a couple of standard empty cartos to try if you want?

Boge LR cartos are 2.2 ohm Matt. I think the SR Boge might be as high as 2.8 - 3 ohm
I think smok LR are 1.8

I tried carto's when I started vaping never did like them. So changed to rebuildable's And the difference to really enjoy vaping is immense. When cartos work well, they can be very good, just I had problems with them working well consistently. And when I changed to rebuildables I worked out why. Every 2 days my rebuildable atty needs recoiling (or cleaning/dry burning) to get rid of the gunk build up on the coil, so how people can use cartos for weeks on end, I just can't work out tbh. Everyone has told me that high sugar juices gunk up coils more quickly, but I seem to have found that every juice I've ever used gunks up coils at about the same rate, ie very quickly! I really did enjoy carto tanks for a while, but lets be honest at what they are, a "make do" bit of engineering to make use of existing technology (the carto), they generally improve the carto experience, but the carto is still the weak link in the system. For me, rebuildables make alot of sense, a clean taste, you can see the coil and although I don't need to see it to know when the coil needs changing, my taste buds tell me that, it does help to see how bad it gets, gets me motivated to recoil. I do realise we are all different though!
