Now I have the double cartridges, I feel I could do with the black (stiffer one) fluval. The white stuff ends up half way down to cartridge, which I think defeats the object. I've had a look at the suppliers threads, but can't work out one from t'other!! My brain don't work very well these days!! MM

Can I ask, should the filters be dense or the other type of sponge where there seems to be 'space' in between ??? Oh dear, am not explaining this very well .. I know what I mean .. but I would be surprised if anyone else does
