I don't know where you got that piece of "advice" ralphbernman but it is nonsense ... perhaps misleading propaganda from a concentrates supplier who want's you to use only their brand? The only thing I would strongly advise is to keep all nicotine products locked up or placed in a high up cupboard out of the way of children and pets and do not mix with children or pets running aroun Also if any nicotine juice gets onto your skin wash off immediately..

It's good fun experimenting with different flavours some are disgusting, but that's the joy of doing it and look at the money you'll save. Very good advice already been given regarding safety.

Always wear disposable gloves especially when dealing with the nicotine bottle.

Never mix when other people are around, they say they won't disturb you or talk to you but they always do, i've messed up many mixes due to being distracted by people talking to me

I used to forget if I had added an ingredient or not and cockups happened all the time. Now I get all my ingredients lined up before I start and keep everything else in the cupboard, work down the recipe in order and put the item well away from me once added. That way there is no doubt wether I used it or not. Sometimes I have the memory of a goldfish. What were we talking about again?

That way there is no doubt wether I used it or not. Sometimes I have the memory of a goldfish. What were we talking about again? Great advice there, and very close to my logic. I keep all the unused ingredients on my left (I'm left-handed), and place them to my right when they have been added. I work down the recipe in order (all this bunkum about adding the flavourings first, then the base - bah!) and put everything away when I've finished one recipe, then get out the flavourings for the next. Always label as you go, that bottle "over there on the cooker, I'll do that in a minute" will always get mis-labelled otherwise. Clean as you go - mix in the kitchen, easy to keep clean, and a bowl of hot water to rinse syringes and bottles is a good idea. Have your recipes either printed out or on a laptop, but not near the water!!! Oh, and enjoy a quick taste on a dripper as you go, but keep batteries etc. away from the water too!
