Hi guys, been researching vaping for a while and am looking for an alternative to roll ups. Currently smoking 20 ish golden virginias , plain skins with filters. Used to work nights, but am now working days and smoking more, getting fed up with coughing up lumps on a morning, and my mum has had cancer 3 times, so I'm hoping to convince her to join me. Took the plunge and ordered a itaste MVP and traditional tobacco juice all strengths, plus a couple of spare atties. Ordered from fasttech yesterday, and hoping they'll be here for when I get back from hols in 3 weeks, so gonna have till then to look at every stinkie I smoke and look forward to a ciggie free life. Looking forward to juice recommendations and advice.

I have this feeling I'm gonna have to order one for the wife in a few weeks, she's a weekend smoker, able to stop at will, but likes a smoke on a weekend with a drink and a DVD. Wouldn't mind recommendations for a juice that would compliment a nice cold lager, I'm thinking citrus?

Thanks Chrissie, fortunately she's got over it after surgeries, tough as old boots! The MVP seemed like a good choice at that price. I've ordered a few things from the far east in the past, and had good customer service, unfortunately got stung with an import duty bill on an £850 light unit for my reef tank!

Hi and welcome, I reckon most people follow the same trends and don't find out what it's all about until they have paid a lot of cash out for junk. Some will start off with the basics and never move away from them, remaining blissfully unaware of just how good (though admittedly expensive) this amazing, life changing habit can become. If that's the case they pay good money for pretty short life crap from china and I suppose if that's what they want you can't blame them and maybe trying to educate them or persuade/show them there is a far more satisfying and long term more viable option where in fairness their money will long term wise be better spent, is not for me or others to interfere. Almost everyone starts off with a crazy notion that £100 spent on vaping gear is obscene, where in reality they have often been happy to spend at least that each month just setting fire to combustibles and seeing their hard earn cash go up in smoke. I have been vaping seriously for just over 7 months, a beginner in many ways, though I have dedicated many hours to watching videos, reading articles and trying to self teach myself about everything I can regarding devices, mods and atomisers. I will gladly pass on any of the information I've worked hard to amass if you are interested, and the fact you are keen is a great start, but my advice would be spend as little as you can until you've maybe met others in person at a local meet etc, and have seen or been allowed to try out some of the fantastic gear available for not that much money, which can truly turn vaping into a great and fantastic journey. Good luck and feel free to PM me if you need any advice or want any help as to what and where to get hold of stuff.

Thanks lordeffingham, I suppose my other hobby is so damn expensive, spending £35 for as fish or coral isn't so bad (my wife does go mad if it dies) then I can justify £50 on an order to fasttech if I can stop coughing up lumps in the morning. I tried to do a load of research to get something that will give me a decent throat hit, and have had a go with disposables (crap) but liked the idea. Obviously if I decide that the kit isn't good enough I will look on here for direction, as its the first vaping forum I've joined, and done a lot of my research on.

The MVP isn't a bad start at all, and many think it's a good piece of kit, but there are lots of variables regarding throat hit and it's not just about power, as I'm sure you'll find out over a bit of time. I smoked 40+ a day for 35 years so know what professional smokers probably think they need, but it might not be the case that you'll actually need a big throat hit once you find the right juice and the right atomiser, every ones habit is different, but you'll find your level soon enough, whereabouts are you by the way?.
