I had my VTR sent from Innokin direct on Thursday and it arrived on Tuesday morning via DHL. Deffo somthing wrong with fairy gift not dhl.

I was going to place my order after reading how Fairy Gift were the first ones to stock it and it was ready to be shipped right away, but i stopped at the PayPal check out and didn't press the last button. Glad i didn't now.....

So what's a 'forwarder'? Why would DHL not pick up directly from Fairy Gift? Or is this just some invented third party to take the blame?

Most of the Chinese suppliers use Forwarders Barry - nothing unusual there.

And the backlog of parcels does happen regularly around the holiday periods - just too many packages trying to leave at the same time.

No, what's unusual is that they promised three-day delivery, told me on 27th (after two days) that they had passed it to DHL and on the 30th tried and failed to pass it on to a third party then went on holiday.

I know normal practices take two weeks, but the proposition here was that they would hand it immediately on to DHL before the holiday.

The next excuse I'll hear, of course, is that DHL have a massive backlog due to the holiday.

If it's any consolation, when dhl get hold of it, it only took my stuff 3 days to get from HK sat a.m local time to my door on the following tue late a.m. so you could well have it by tuesday....

Got it today. They finally gave it to DHL on Friday (after sitting on my order a week and a half), and they got it from Hong Kong to Leipzig over the weekend and it arrived in London early this morning.

I will never order from Fairy Gift again.
