I was reading through the luggage restrictions for an upcoming flight. I am planning on putting 2 ego batteries in my hand luggage as you are not allowed to put them in a checked in case I believe? The hand luggage says this - what do you guys think ?
The following items are prohibited from being taken into the cabin as hand luggage:
Toys/replica guns Plastic Catapults Knives (regardless of length of blade) Razor blades Scissors Trade tools Darts Metal Cutlery Hypodermic syringes Knitting needles Snooker/Pool cues Sports bats Self heating drinks/food Cigarette lighters and electronic cigarettes

I've just come back from France with absolutely no problem, one security person did ask if I had electronic cigarettes and how many after my bag was x-rayed, I was asked to showthem and that was it.

Hi loobiebloo, I have travelled on Swiss air previously with no issues. In fact I flying out with them on Monday night, planning on taking my vamo/protank, and also popping in my Magneto and rsst empty and I'm there all week with work and figured I'd play with some recoiling in the evenings so will have some supplies for mesh, wick, wire. Obviously no scissors! Batteries and chargers. Does any one know if it's ok to take nail clippers those hinged ones you sometimes get in posh xmas crackers?

Is an ego battery an e-cig? Or just a battery? Ryanair still allow them, should have used them . The airport allow them through security as well, or at least they don't say they are not allowed, so it is just jet2.

Legally nail clippers are allowed, but each airline has it's own rules. Scissors are an example of this- legally small or rounded end scissors are allowed, but a lot of airlines have a blanket ban on scissors. These are the legal requirements, but individual airlines enforce their own rules. www.gov.uk/hand-luggage-restrictions/overview

Thanks sammy13 that is what I had thought, if the worst comes to the worst I leave them and buy a new set in duty free or when I get to Switzerland.

So long as they're in your hand luggage, they will go through security ok. Can't see that Jet2 will recheck your bag. It's probably just to stop people using them on the flight!

I flew with Jet 2 last week with hand luggage only. I took several batteries: no problems at Leeds or Amsterdam.

Hi sammy13, just arrived in Zurich from cityairport. No probs wwith batteries even had a spare for my Vamo in my pocket, just put it in the tray with my vamo/protank and no probs. One word of warning. Dont have a filled tank on board, they leak! It didn't happen last time to me so I just have been lucky, this time my back pack smells of blackcurrent! And my protank is empty, just working through the over saturated coil :-D
