I've been emailing my MEPs for months, and each one, no matter what party they represent, keeps coming back with cut-and-paste party lines. None seem able to take the time to think for themselves. And the labour lot are the worst of them all.

So yeah, they are ALL the same. However to make change you need people to pull together. Going "stuff it there all the same" is no different to a raging Alcoholic who knows they will end up dead from their issue but they keep on drinking anyway regardless of consequence.

So the ROFL, may be good for you. But for me, with young kids I am disgusted in this country and (no disrespect) with the people who have voted the same cancerous people into power time and time again. Personally I cant see how anyone would find it "funny", if anything it is a sign of how deeply disturbed this country has become. Again, all thanks to the power's that be.

Perhaps it's my background - public school, PhD and just starting a civil service pension - but what I object to in your otherwise-admirable rant is the idea that things have moved towards 'elitism'. In fact, the 'boys' clubs' of City finance, the stranglehold of Oxbridge-educated public schoolboys on politics, etc. have been broken up. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you mean by 'elite', but in my mind we've moved towards a system where money talks.

It's the Labour Party who have fought hardest on medical regulation for e-cigarettes. People talk a lot about Eton-educated chaps in the Tory-led Cabinet, but let's not pretend that the left wing female MEPs are the same.
