I received the iTaste VV 3.0 kit today, together with a different vendor's version of Old Holborn e-juice (Paradise Vape, mostly PG 18 mg).
Now I have to say that the hit doesn't feel strong. Parhaps it's the lack of air (was using Riva 1100 with Kanger EVOD until then), or is it the battery, settings? If I understand it correctly, the VV is 4.0 and VW 7.5. Could it be the clearo itself, iClear16? I'm not sure what ohm that is. I'm considering visiting an e-cig shop tomorrow and getting a Kanger Protank 2. Would that improve the hit? Would that be more airy, which I like? For some reason the EVOD didn't screw down properly, so I can't use that. Or maybe I should go back to the first e-juice I used back in April, ok-smokey's Old Holborn. I have to admit that I didn't get much satisfaction with the Riva either lately, but I blamed that on the e-juice (another vendor's version of Old Holborn) and/or a possible weakening of the batteries.
With so many variables, I don't know where to start LOL.

Whack up the power a bit and see if you like it. The only reason not to is if you get a burnt taste.

Mess around with the VV on the battery, but it could be the liquid, for instance i could make a mix of both the same ratios etc etc but different flavors and one could give more hit than the other, the Kanger would be more airy. Mess around with what juices you have and the battery

I use vw mode on my mod and can go from nice and smooth on low power to a massive kick in the throut at higher wattage.

They do the same thing (for a given atty) but measure it differently. Watts is the power measure (it tells you how much power is being expended, regardless of the atty - but for a fixed resistance it achieves this by changing the voltage).

Not that I own *too many* clearos or anything (cough, cough) but if an iClear isn't hitting, a Protank will be disappointing.
Protank(s) need a lot of power (VV or VW) to really pump it out.
How high can you go on the iClear before it gets too bad? I'd be looking to get 8 watts no trouble.

Maybe I'll see if the shop I'm going to tomorrow has any alternatives ( The Best E Cigarette).

I'll turn it up to 8.0, and leave the VV at 4.0? Honestly, that doesn't mean anything. It might keep your VV setting while it's in VW mode, but it's achieving the wattage requested by changing the voltage.

It does VW or VV - not both at the same time - depending on which mode you put it that's what it will output.
I'd leave it in VW mode and up it a bit - try 8w or 8.5w - 7.5w is my sweet spot but its different for everyone

If there is a p next to the number on the LED display its in wattage- it its a U its in voltage.
It can only do one at a time...

A given atty has a fixed resistance and variable voltage devices can step down (or possibly up) from the voltage coming out of the battery. This changes the power according to the following equation: Ohm's LawIf the device measures the resistance of the coil it can also offer you the possibility to set the voltage according to the required power... but it's still just changing the output voltage.
