doctorjellybeanSteep learning curve I'm afraid. But at the end of the day, it don't taste burnt your going the right way. I should imagine the iClear16 straight from the box will be an average resistance say 2.5 ish Ohms.Protank will seem airy at first,if you find it too much just block off one of the air holes. The juice you are using, are you sure it doesn't need to steep?

Tell me about it The juice you are using, are you sure it doesn't need to steep? No idea. It doesn't state anything anywhere. It is from Paradise Vape, 18 mg.

Not that I own *too many* clearos or anything (cough, cough) but if an iClear isn't hitting, a Protank will be disappointing. Protank(s) need a lot of power (VV or VW) to really pump it out. How high can you go on the iClear before it gets too bad? I'd be looking to get 8 watts no trouble. Bad cough you got there mate, you wanna get an e-cig lol

Some juices give virtually no hit whereas others are the total opposite.

When using a 2.5ish ohm coil I would set my device at around 4.4 volts. Try bumping it to that and see what it vapes like.

I did try that one as well, the 18 mg. The first one I tried was from ok-smokey: Old Holborn. Maybe I should try the 24 mg from E Vape.

doctorjellybeansorry got delayed, company turned up last night, so had to socialise!! Was going to add that the 24mg is great, but if you really want the flavour to come over just get some of the same concentrate at the same time of ordering..don't forget to "review" what you buy on their site, gets you points to use on future transactions.

Just to clarify about the whole power vs voltage thing..
Even if the device keeps different settings for each mode, they still correlate to each other..
I just find the vw setting to give a more manageable vape..
In voltage mode you are left with incrementations of 0.1v per adjustment and in power/wattage mode it is most likely that it increases in 0.5w steps depending on the device.
At the moment I am using my evic in vw mode at 7.5watts. Thats the equivalent of 3.96volts with a 2.1ohm coil.
If I then change the coil to a resistance of 2.2ohms and try again at 7.5w the voltage output increases to 4.06v.
You see, if you set you device at say 7.5w, it will fluctuate the output voltage to match the resistance of the coil. Thus, at least in my eyes, a set and forget kinda thing..
The other thong is that some juices prefer different levels of power to get the best from them.. as you seem to be finding yourself!
For instance.
I have 4 tanks all set with the same resistance (2.1ohms).
Apple pie tastes best at 8w Spearmint tastes best at 6.5w Custard tastes best at 5.6w Parma violets tastes best at 7w
Yes, the throat hit is better at higher watts, but too high and you'll just get a nasty burnt taste as you inhale!

doctorjellybeanif you press both of the buttons next to the display together it will tell you the resistance of your attie!

I'm going to see if the e-cig shop I'm visiting today has any e-juice samples to try while I'm there. doctorjellybeanif you press both of the buttons next to the display together it will tell you the resistance of your attie! Which is 2.2

Apologies, it's only in checking that in my head that I remembered that it's technically it's not justOhm's Law that calculates the power-voltage relationship but more accurately this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watt#DefinitionI.e. square of the voltage over the resistance is the power (Watts), by combination of the definition of electrical power with Ohm's Law.

Can't be doing with maths.. I just look at my evic's screen Tease-smiley

Which is fair enough, it's just that (as we said above), these displays are deceptive. A better display, with a larger screen, would display resistance, power and voltage side-by-side and whether you changed power or voltage you'd see the other changing too in lockstep.

The evic does display voltage and wattage at the same time, and they do both step up at the same time..
