Hissie, no need to fall out, we are all entitled to our opinions However, I have to agree with Steve & others - we all have our addictions & everyone of them cam be as difficult to break. RIP Amy.

Nothing to do with moral high ground. I'm giving my opinion & I'm not going to offer an apology for the way I feel.
Just because my opinion dosen't fit with the majority, dosen't mean I'm wrong. I have a different point of view & it's not gonna change any time soon.

That's fair enough Hissie. Don't think you need to offer an apology for what are your more than entitled opinions on anything for that matter. We're all different, all view situations differently . . . be a boring old world if we did all think/do the same.

Ok, I'm going to go out on a limb. I think there is a bit of truth in what everyone has said.
She was a drug addict and that's very difficult to overcome. On the other hand, no one forced her to start taking drugs. She set her own course in life and no doubt knew the dangers of what she was doing. We did also, when we started using nicotine, although I don't think that it's fair to compare nicotine and caffeine addiction to hard core drug use.
It's a very tragic loss of a young and talented person. On the other hand, a lot of the responsibility for her death falls on her own head. She made her choices in life and they were bad choices, such is the pity of it all. I made bad choices too, in the 1970's I had a prescription for Valium. I used to wash them down with beer, in spite of my doctor's warning to not use alcohol while taking Valium. It was my choice, a stupid choice, but fortunately for me, it didn't do any permanent harm.
I don't agree with the "good riddance, just another junky" attitude. That's wrong thinking, in my opinion. She was a flawed human being, just like we all are, but she chose a path, that most people would never go down. The best way that I can describe her life and death, is that it was a tragedy, both for her and her family.
That's my two cents (pence) worth.
