Out of the two the PS4 will be a far better console. I'll still stick with my PC though for games

I use my pc and my consoles for different types of games, for sim type games where a mouse is important, I use the PC, for 1st person games (the type I usually play) I use my xbox360. I won't be buying either, at least for a while, they are both alot of money and I waited a long time for the price of the 360 to come down before I got it. I will continue to monitor the situation with interest and see in which direction the different consoles go. FWIW, I have the PS1, xbox and xbox 360 (plus all the older ones ), but I hold no brand loyalty, whichever is best at the time. But I am a massive Halo fan and only got Reach a few weeks ago, which I am seriously loving, a very good single player Halo 5 will push me towards the xbox one. I expect both will have games that look very similar, but in time, who knows? Depends what the developers can come up with. As usual gameplay (for me) will make the difference. I also prefer the xbox controller

Lets see the PS4 is cheaper, more powerful and doesn't require the all seeing eye to be checking in on you constantly
Oh and it has PS+
Its not even a contest really
Although on my current budget my next gen experience is going to be limited to my Wii U for the next few months
Still pretty Zelda remake to keep me happy...

I was gonna wait but with 4 kids i had no control, but tbh it's mine all mine I also prefer the xbox controller SameAnother thing that grabbed me was that PS4 is getting Diablo 3 with the new expansion and not much info coming from Blizzard as whether it will be on the Xbox with the expansion. As for shooting games i don't really like them, not unless it is Rainbow Six

Forgot to add, this might be tricky, got four Xbox 360's in my home, one for me and the other for the 3 kids, me buying this PS4 might end up being expensive in the long run when they see it icon_shoppingm

I live for shooting games, lol. Rainbow 6, I sort of loved then hated it, then loved then hated, often in the same gaming session. But I couldn't play it for hours the way I can halo or skyrim. It's a good job we are all different, or we would only have 4 games to choose from I suspect alot of the rubbish coming out about which console will be better, will all be forgotten once they have been in gamers homes for a while, I don't care which has the best memory, I care about how games actually behave and play.... and to a lesser extent, look.

womble and I chatted about this last week and I think we were both in the agreement the XBox seems to be venturing further and further from what it was actually introduced as, a games console, that instinctively puts me off because I feel like the majority of what I would pay for one isn't geared at the gaming experience and more of the 'media', something I couldn't give two hoots about. We have a kinect, we bought the kinect pack when we bought our 360 but it was for the kids, the Wii was getting old, waving about a controller had lost it's novelty and we thought the full body sensor thing would be great for the kids, especially with our less than spectacular summers and spectacular amounts of rain. It really didn't enter our heads the fact we could control the thing by voice and giving it a bit of a wave, didn't care. Just thought it would be great for the kids, and for family nights where we all use one of our consoles together for a laugh. There's a rather embarassing video of me deep inside OHs phone of me having to slap my thigh whilst I was riding a pig in Carnival Games. It's Oscar winning, but I digress. PS4, meh. Not been a PS owner since II, the only thing that slightly pulled me to a 3 was Gran Turismo, but buying a whole and at the time expensive console just for 1 game is silly. I know I'll end up buying one, if not both of them, I'm too much of a nerdy gamer girl not to, but in time for release? Nope, not sold enough to pre-order just yet. Although it's had hugely poor sales I still love the WiiU and I've still got a shelf of pre-owned games for the 360 I've not even started on yet.

Yeah i got the Kinect and was great for all 2 days if that, good concept but poor games for it, i wanna sit down and chill on my sofa not jump up and down waving my arms like a chicken on steroids

That is true about the xbox one and I did say that....... but it should have Halo 5 at some point I will be annoyed at paying for stuff I will never use, but that does depend on the price I pay when I buy it Maybe we could borrow swap some games for the xbox? I have some I hardly use. I hated the graphics on the PS2 for some reason, never could get used to them.

I'm unsure whether to get either at the moment. I have a PS3 but I find myself playing less and less these days. I love driving games but I find other genres don't hold my attention like they used to. With GT6 coming to PS3, and the fact that I'm making very slow progress through GTAV, I'm going to wait and see what happens when they're released.
I worry about pre-ordering anything from the games industry these days - so much seems to be released unfinished - and so I'm going to wait, probably until there's a ps4 slim, and see how keen I am on gaming at that point.

Yeah, of course another reason to wait is to see which console has "problems" at least one I would think, will have and they will improve the hardware on the next version. Womble.... still smarting from buying a xbox at launch and the price dropping a £100 a few weeks later
