Hi guys and girls........ I have 100ml of a tobacco juice at 18mg, bought in august which I am now finding too strong!. is there a simple way to water it down so to speak, I would like to get it down to around the 12mg mark as I am using some gear at that strength and am enjoying it. It seems a shame to waste it but i know i wont enjoy vaping it. If I was to add some vg to it will that take the strength down? its a 70/30 mix at the moment and the new one I like is 50/50. How would I work out what quantity of vg would be required? Again soz for all the questions and I know there is the mixing threads but I am a bit thick when it comes to numbers ???
Cheers again.......

davyc ... Adding 40ml of VG to your 100ml of 18mg 70/30 PG/VG juice will yield 140ml at 12.86mg 50/50 PG/VG but the flavour will be reduced.

Freefromsmoking, without sounding stupid, will flavour be reduced by much? Is there anything I could add to increase flavour without having to buy concentrate?

davyc - you could see if the juice you ordered is available in 0mg nicotine, and add 40ml of that to your existing juice for the same nicotine content that @freefromsmoking mentions above. That way you can guarantee that the flavour will remain the same. With regards to flavour reduction by adding VG, I've not tried it but I assume the dilution scales to the strength of it's concentration of it in the mix. My brain can't compute the maths on this at the moment but, I'm sure someone with better skills can give an accurate answer!

The amount of flavour will be the same but the percentage of flavour will be reduced to 0.714 of the original concentration. ie: reduced by approx 29%
Examples:
(1) if the amount of flavour was 20 ml (20% of initial mix) then the % in the 140ml final mix would be (20/140) x 100 = 14.28% .... 14.28/20 = 0.714 reduction
(2) if the amount of flavour was 5 ml (5% of original mix) then the % in the 140ml final mix would be (5/140) x 100 = 3.57% .... 3.37/5 = 0.714 reduction

It's all double Dutch to me! just thought I would say that I added 38 ml of vg to my tobacco liquid and I am well chuffed with the result. I worked out the 38ml bit cos that's the size of bottle at sainsburys Anyway, if, and it's a big if, I wanted to could I add a touch of flavouring such as vanilla or something using the flavouring you can get from tha bakery section in stores or is it supposed to be specific for ejuice? cheers peeps.....

I'd keep to eliquid specific flavourings Davy, Bakery flavours very often contain oil which isn't suitable for vaping. A list of Vendors can be found here: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/23334/mixing-supplies-vendors-sellers?page=1&scrollTo=425271I'd also suggest sticking to ' modifying ' small volumes of liquid, just incase you don't like the end result, if you do take the plunge . . . .

He he thanks perpetua, I will stick to proper stuff, as for the above statement there was nothing to loose by changing it, it's been in the drawer since mid august and had about 5 mil out of it. It was only £18 so not really a big loss either way. At least it's bearable now. Funny how tastes change considering I started not so long ago on 24mg. Cheers

I don't like diluting Liquids. I had some USA mix at 24 mg which was too high for me. Purchased some more at 6 mg, mixed them 50/50 and ended up with 15mg. Nothing is lost this way, except the Nicotine strength. Works for me .................... Jag. (Staying out of the kitchen ....)

Sorry davyc ... didn't mean to go all maths professor on you lol. Basically the flavour will be reduced by about a quarter. .... glad to hear that the added VG did the trick.
