It seems that every new device these days is hailed as a game changer. The thing that will improve your vaping experience to a new nirvana.
To my mind this is nonsense. Most of these innovations are incremental improvements on what already exists, not step changes. Looking back, there have been a few real game changers. In my opinion there were:
The very first Vision Clearo (up to that point it had only been cartos) Replaceable clearo heads Carto tanks (a new way of looking at how to use and feed a carto) The first rebuildable atomisers (in my case the Penelope) The Ego Twist (bringing vv to the masses) Variable wattage The explosion in DIY mixing
It seems to me that everything else is just a refinement on these themes.
Discuss.....

I couldn't agree more! There is so much hype within the online Vaping community. Even the dreaded You Tube reviews are becoming less and less critical. Although, I have to hold my hand up here and admit that when I watch these reviews I do so only to get a good look at the product, not to hear the individuals opinion. I freely admit to getting sick of seeing small rooms full of clouds of vapour, and vapour rings heading straight for me via the monitor. I like to make my own mind up about things. So much equipment is hyped beyond belief. Some of that equipment is very good, but a lot of that equipment is hardly fit for purpose. You buy an atty then have to re-wick and re-coil it? Not much of an atty then, was it? Yes ... I tend to agree with you on much of what you said ....... If only common sense ruled. Jag. (Can't stand all the hype ....)

Hate to sound like an Innokin fanboy (though they're not necessarily the innovators), but what about dual coils and side-by-side mods?
They're both spawning any number of imitators right now.

The biggest game changer for me, was actually you lot - AAEC Without this excellent resource and community, I'd probably still be smoking rollies, or possibly 10-motives from Tescos (but from what I hear I'd have given up on those a long time back). One you might add to your list though is pyrex - I know it's just an improvement on plastic clearos, but it has enabled me to use absinthe/anise as an (almost) adv without fear of cracking tanks or melting drip-tips.

I have a Drawer full of high end rebuildables that I can't be bothered to get out and coil because a good tank (Wee boaby) and a decent carto (Boge) works so well !
No doubt I will eventually get around to coiling some stuff but not just yet, I'm too lazy !
I use a Dingo with a boaby and a Vamo with a 2nd boaby with another flavour every day and they just work and have never let me down.

Fred and Oneday are correct,if you look a the clearos what exactly changed oh single coil to dual coil make the outer look tad different,i find a brand new single has as much vape etc, then again what is misleading is when you see all these tubes and you see masses of vapour being produce and everybody wants that, and to me point me if i am wrong that mainly boils down to the power out put you can achieve, more power you use you need more wick to supply juice= more vapour...... Ok downside is for the mod makers ,not there fault one of nice looking rebuildables, but out of the price range for many and thats where the copies come in it has given chance to people without big pockets to experience it... Think most will read other comments on equipment and say cool want one ,but how many have been left disappointed, what may be good for one is crap to another, some will even just buy it because its shiny or colourful, and to make it appealing the style has to change but the way it works is still the same....But end of day its your choice, main thing what ever changes are produced it has done its job -----you quit the analouge

A big +1 for this, before joing in on here, I did venture into certain other forums but just got fed up with all the bitchiness and politics I consider myself first and foremost to be an exsmoker who now chooses to take my nicotine in a dfferent manner, i do however understand that for many it can become a hobby and to them I say enjoy. I'm quite content with my "old system" but will always enjoy hearing other folk's tales and reports. Long may we all enjoy this forum and Vaping.

At the end of the day all it is is a battery supplying current to heat a bit of coiled wire and thereby vaporising a compound containing nicotine .... how simple or complex you want to make this process is a matter of individual choice ... I prefer to keep it a faff free as possible and others prefer to make a hobby of it and enjoy collecting all the latest mods etc .... each to his own.

Docdave steam turbine.
My dripper was a taste explosion that tasted better than everything else.
The steam turbine doubled that in flavour reproduction straight out the box.
Worth the money ? Hell yes !

I'm with fred, silentscream and Die5el. The game is still changing for me every time I read something new on here! I know some of you have been vaping long enough for it to be 'normal' now (smartypants) but I still find the whole experience exciting and absorbing (and expensive!).

Game changers for me is not about all the new items coming out as most new clearos and pretty much the same as each other but for me being able to tailor make my wicks and make my own juices. Saved a fortune on buying heads and ain't bought a pre-made juice since mixing. One thing i have learned is you pay for what you get and if you don't research a item thoroughly you will be disappointed in the end, and also buying from a good vendor is a must...going off track here
