Well it finally arrived today, after ordering on the 26th of September, from fasttech. I got an mvp, 2 spare I clear 30 tanks and 3 of the tobacco flavour juices. First of all the tracking never updated and for weeks whenever I checked on the singpost website it stated that my package could not be found, then Thursday it finally found it and said that it had arrived in the uk. I don't blame FT for this, it's obviously issues with HK post office.
OK first impressions. Made 2 rookie mistakes, firstly all the juices I ordered are either 16, or 24 mg nic. Which means they obviously are too strong, wish I'd ordered some 8mg or lower so I could up the voltage and get more flavour with less throat hit, but that's a job for this evening. I also drained the tank of the tobacco juice to try ice cream without rinsing and the resulting cocktail tastes nothing like. Oh well, lesson learned.
I've been vaping for the last couple of hours almost non stop, and loving it. Voltage set at 3.8 and getting a very satisfying smoke-a-like. The Mrs isn't so convinced, but then she only smokes stinkies to be sociable with me on a weekend. I do think I will find it a suitable replacement for smoking and will provide me with a crutch whilst withdrawing from stinkies. The benefits are obvious from a health point of view, but also I can have a good toke and not leave a smelly haze in the living room, and saves me having to go into the kitchen for a fag. Looking forward to some nice juice recommendations, have tried fruit punch, which I find a little head ache inducing, but that maybe the strength of 24mg. Also vaping lemon which is nice.
All in all loving it.

Am I right in my assumptions about the 16 and 24mg strengths? Mrs is having stinkieswith her weekend Bacardi and coke, I'm on lemon and coconut in separate clearos. Still not had a fag since starting, and am missing them a little bit, but am determined. Am coughing up a bit, but I'm assuming this is due to adapting, plus I've had a bit of a cold recently. Do get the odd palpitation, but am thinking this is also due to the high nic levels, so have gone down to 3.3volts and throttled back on my tokes.

Hi and welcome guess all the usual helpers are out this evening. Don't worry they will be about soon to help you. I'm newish to this too and haven't used a MVP but I think you adjust the voltage till you get something you like. The nic strength of 16 seems about right for you the headache on the 24 is a sign that's it's too high you could put a little vg in to dilute it but it would also dilute the flavour. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be here soon to help you. Oh one other thing a lot of people have stinkies and vape just cut down gradually. Count the ones you don't have not the ones you do hope this is of a little help and we'll done on all the stinkies you've avoided

Depending on how many you smoked, you may find the 18 and 24 mg juices a bit strong - but it's likely that the throat hit is due to the PG content of the juices. Does it say what the mix is (80/20, 70/30)?
A simple solution would be to buy some VG (vegetable glycol) from the chemist and add a small amount to your juices. This will reduce the throat hit, and the nic content but will dilute that flavour a bit.
Your solution of turning the voltage down will also help, but if you feel you need to be constantly vaping (I often do when I'm sat down doing nothing else) a weaker juice may suit you better.
I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your MVP - I love mine!

Congratulations cl0wn, you're doing brilliantly! Your cough could be due to several things, your cold/adapting/technique . . . you may find it a bit easier on your throat if you hold the vapour in your mouth for a few seconds before inhaling/exhaling. The palpitations could be due to overdoing it a bit on the higher nic strength, so it would be worth cutting that back a bit so you can still vape away without feeling any ill effects. Make sure you're keeping hydrated as well, as vaping can be quite drying.

agree with Perpetua, too much nic and not enough fluid intake can produce symptoms as described. Also, coughing up may well be the remnants of a cold, but also the start of your lungs expelling the smoke-induced crAp they've ingested over the years smoking...this may take a few weeks to complete, but by 'eck it's worth it p.s. another symptom indicative of overdoing the nic is abdominal muscle (as opposed to stomach) cramps - in my early (overdoing it) vaping days I got them quite a bit until I got my levels settled... ...one of these minutes I'll stop editing this bl00dy post...when you read things back sometimes they just don't read right

Thanks for the support guys, since dialing back, and gradually increasing when the need / craving takes me, the palpitations have reduced. Yeah, I'm getting the feeling that my body is purging all the crap out of my lungs, to make way for vape. Gone through about 3ml of juice, but, considering I'm having a few beers, I still don't feel the need for a stinkie. In fact I rolled a few for the Mrs at the start of the night, and they smell foul.

FYI I'm currently vaping easy premium eliquid juices ATM. Someone posted a link on here a few weeks back and I ordered a load of 10ml samples.

As others have said there are side effects to vaping either too much or too strong mg level.
This may not work for you, but it works for me - I have 18mg for during the day when working and then 12mg for evenings when I can Vape as much as I like. I have to stop calling about 1/2 hour before I go to sleep or I can't sleep as too much nic in my system. Strange as I never had that when smoking stinkies.
Joosejuice, vapeescape, alchemists cupboard all have fantastic juices you can try.

cl0wn I can't add to all the excellent advice you have received above, nor can I advise on juice as I make all my own but I would like to congratulate you on your efforts so far in giving up the ciggies. It is hard at the beginning but stick with it mate as it does get easier .. one day at a time and don't worry about the odd ciggy .. you will get there at your own pace and we are all rooting for you and all the others who are just starting out on their vaping journey. Good luck!
