Editing profile

I know I'm probably being thick but I seem to be unable to create an avatar or add a signature banner to my profile. I'm using an iPad, and I don't have a PC so if that's the issue then I guess I'll have to live with it

You can still do it on an ipad, fret not! see the top blue bar? (starts with home --) and click on profile, then screen changes, far right [edit profile] then on that page... you get a page with 4 long boxes, pick second  box to use a site supplied avatar

3rd box - upload avatar from pc >>[change avatar] thats the photo on left thats your posting picture and choose to upload from your pc and a browser box appears and lets you root around inside your tablet, click on photo you have in mind and press upload....that should be your avatar done

for a signiture -- thats the long box thats below every post you make you do same steps to avatar and then look slightly above avatar picture and see a row of tabs, next one along you want = [ personal ] thats where you will in details about where you live, male or female etc and half way down it says 'signature' thats where you add your image code into box (you will probably have a code available if you added banner via photobucket) or if like me, its one of those counter banners, the site you use gives you a copy/paste code to add in

Aha! Thankyou Pepperty, I understand the banner bit now, when editing the avatar I want to pick a forum one but all I get is an empty box to choose from, no matter, I'll find an image elsewhere, thanks again for your help xx

tmg there aren't any forum avatars. I never bothered to add any since we changed to Proboards V5 due to the fact you can easily create a Proboards avatar or upload your own

sorry about mix-up on avatars (forum having some) I never checked!! I just knew I'd some prepped ones available somewhere inside my pc, so went to fish one out

The forum avatar maker uses flash, which iPads don't run. However, if you have a flash browser (I use Photon from the App Store) you can use the editor, but it won't run in Safari.

Thankyou for your help, I shall go find myself a suitable image for avatar, preferably not a mugshot, we don't want to put folk off their tea...

you can make your own mugshot on your profile, it's great fun

Well after some deliberation I've decided to go with a recent photo of moi, although the horns are a little more furry now what with the onset of the colder weather...
