I have two kittens, both around 6 months, so it's their first experience of whiz-bangs. They've been surprisingly ok - the really loud ones make them sit up sharply and have a listen, but no cowering. I've just given them plenty of attention over the past week and lots of treats to distract them, it seemed to work - but they'll do anything for Dreamies. Nuclear Armageddon could be happening outside, but with a few Dreamies they wouldn't care at all!
They're not going outside yet so I guess that helps too!

My old lad is 19 years old now and stone deaf but when he was young he loved bonfire night.

Aww poor thing. This time of the year is not very kind to animals. My dog is sleeping on the sofa. We have the curtains closed and the TV on. She does not seem to worried but barks at any that are very close and very loud. Are fireworks getting louder or am I just getting older? ???

The only problem with our two dogs and fireworks is that they keep wanting to go outside and bark at them They come under the same heading as any dogs or cats that come near the house and even birds that have the temerity to violate our airspace - it's not allowed as far as they are concerned!

Lol Dave Sprite is a bit like that with anything living. She doesn't mind fire works but jumps at the loud close to home ones. I am amazed at how good she is with them as she is terrified of the Hoover, the ironing board, anything big that is not a person moving, even if a person is moving it, she even gets scared if I kiss a rat's tummy!
