I'm thinking of upgrading to a Kayfun Lite Plus when they go on sale. Is there a massive difference from say Protanks to Kayfuns and are they worth the money?
If getting a Kayfun, would I need to get Mechanical Mod to go with it? I'm just not really sure what to do and don't really know a lot about silica tanks or mech mods.
Any advice would be great, thanks.

It would be a massive step up i lardy boy. No need for a mech mod. Will work OK on a vv/vw mod. Not used one myself so can't give you much more info.

I have an MVP2 which gives me Variable Voltage and Wattage. I dont touch the Wattage, but Variable Voltage is good, no matter what the device. I find I can start the day at low Voltage and increase throughout the day, it seems to "Hit Harder" the higher the Voltage (until it starts to burn the juice) and some flavours taste quite different at different Voltages.

Yeah I have an MVP and a Vamo but was curious to know if a mech mod would be better for a Kayfun.

iLardyboy deffo a upgrade but don't expect "OMG look what this much money i spent does to my vaping" but it is a better juice taste change but not something that you may think justifies the money, but saying that it is a item that you will say "Omg this is for keeps, the quality oozes" but and i am sure you will love it when you see the craftsmanship and engineering compared to a Protank for instance. Upgrading from the Protank too the Kayfun is to me more of a "Wish i bought this in the first place" item, well engineered and that alone makes you feel the vape is better, maybe a psychological thing i don't know but it works. But i must state before buying it get used to coiling and make sure you are comfortable doing it before buying it, i.e you could have the best atty in the world only to be let down by bad re-building.

This is my 2p. I stepped up from a protank2 to a KFL, it was the best thing I ever did. I hated the PT2, I was recoiling my own heads but it was hit and miss. Even with new heads from the retailers it was hit and miss. Since I have owned the KFL i have not looked back. I now own 3 Kayfuns and have no intention of getting rid of any of them. Its expensive, but they are great. No leaks, no gurgles and do what they are supposed to do with amazing flavour. As Super-Shiny say's make sure you are ok with coiling, but that is fairly simple. I recommend the double navy nest, give it a google and you will find a video if you don't already know.

What ginge7289 said (except the bit about recoiling protank heads ) the kayfun is a joy to use, I've a fair few silica rebuildables but the kayfun lite is my goto atty, and it knocks the socks off a protank IMO. Easy to coil if you watch a few YouTube vids as well, in fact there's also a cracking set up vid on cloud 9. When I bought mine it was my biggest vape spend to date and it's still the best money I've spent

Stick it on a vv/vw by the way, low ohms and a mech mod is another learning curve altogether

Great advice Super-Shiny, I think I'm not too bad at recoiling now. Doing microcoils with cotton in my other attys and definitely notice a big difference from a standard coil. Are microcoils with cotton ok to use in a Kayfun? Would you advise to get mech mod to go with a Kayyfun, or would what I have be ok? Hoping microcoils are ok as I just received 25 metres of .25 kanthal from Stealhvape yesterday.....love me a microcoil,

Thanks to everyone for the help, think I'll have to take the leap. I just wish they were a bit cheaper, it's a lot to pay out for an atty.
