I finally did it!!! A whole 24 hours with a single analgoue And I even had a visit to the pub. I admit I musta looked like a right Billy no mates in the bar, friday night and im sat in the corner with my e-cig, my drink and a book lol but it was more about could I do it. I didnt want any outside influences tempting me one way or the other. Just me and whatever I felt like I needed to do. I should prob point out there was only about 10 people in the bar, including the 2 bar staff lol I think I had my Riva permanatly in my hand, the bar staff never made any comments about it at all and just let me get on with it. I started off tryin to be a little stealthy but after the frist drink that went away pritty quick and I was as happy as... hmmm well ... a smoker who didn't have to go out in the rain lol I think if it had of been smoke there would of been this little cloud hanging around me lol. I just relaxed and enjoyed my book and my drink. I was just thinking about finishing up for the night, all pleased as punch with myself that I had done it. When this guy asked me why I was sat on my own, and why I was reading a book in the bar. He decided to join me and brought 2 of his friends over too. 1 of them a little worse for wear and the other the designated driver. (there is a point to this bear with me lol) Eventually, the guy who came over originally decided he wanted a cigerette, and took one out of his packet and kept tryin to light it at the table, me and his 2 friends kept sayin you can't smoke in here, and he just kept sayin well she is. I even offered to go out side with him to the smoking section but he wasn't intrested. even his sober friend gave up tryin to tell him no. One of the bar staff walked past and smelt the smoke and told him to put it out, he ignored her, and when she walked past him again she told him again, this time he listened but I think that was only cos he had nearly finished his cig. Each time I had gone to the bar for another drink, I had taken my Riva with me, kept it on full display as much as possible and the staff had obviously noticed that it wasnt a real cigarette. I was also sat only about 2 meters from the bar and in plain sight of the bar staff. I have read a lot of the threads about should bars allow e-cigs and what different people do when in social situations, and I was rather enjoying being able to sit inside and use mine. But after this guys behaviour, even after me and his friends tried to explain to him mine wasn't real (yes it is its just digital;)) and still he kept sayin well she's smoking so I'm going to. I think I can understand why some places dont allow vaping. I really don't want them to say "no vaping here" but I can understand the bar staff not wanting to deal with idiots like this guy cos they allow someone else to vape. To be honest he was probably always gonna light up inside the building, I'm sure we have all seen drunk people do it, and I've nearly caught myself do it a few times and realised just intime I should be outside. It was jsut the way he was blaming my Riva for his reason to do it. Next tiem I go in there, will they say after what happened last time, I'm sorry but it's not allowed now? But apart from all that, 24 hours with an analogue yey me lol very very proud of myself. I did find myself wanting the analogue a few times, I just used my Riva more determindly lol And my new juice delivery came this morning, cant wait to get sniffing and trying them all. Now I know I can def do this I can get the shopping list together for all the bits and bobs i want to try out. But thats a whole other new thread in teh making lol Sry this got so long and thanks for reading * I just realised its been more than 24 hours .... I've slept twice now so thats 36 hours nearly

Hey Jemima well done, that's absolutely brilliant No probs with the length of the post either, I like reading long posts if they're interesting and yours ceertainly was You're a lot braver than me for starters giving it a go inside the pub, well done you. As for that bloke what a w*nker IMHO, sorry to hear you had to put up with that. It's an interesting point though and like you I can see why some places might be nervous about allowing e-cigs if it encourages these sorts of antics, the bottom line for them might be whether it's worth allowing given the hassle it might cause staff (especially on a busy night) if drunks with analogues take it as carte blanche to smoke indoors, isn't it always the way in life that the idiot minority spoils things for the rest of us! I guess ultimately we need the public, and publicans (ho ho) to be better informed about the legalities and why e-cigs are so different. Whether that comes through a capaign like CamVIP or through the media I don't know but fingers crossed it'll work out in our favour. Anyway again very well done on the 36 hours and here's to many more ... I'll drink to that

Congratulations Jemima I really hope that idiot hasn't spoiled things for you for vaping in that pub For the pubs sake as well as your own. I firmly believe that the e-cig could save a lot of pubs having to close.

Well done, Jemima. The guy was obnoxious, but drunk people do stupid things. I know it was your table, but did you consider moving to another table, when he lit up and refused to put it out ??

Thanks everyone I'm very proud of myself at the moment lol @jerry, Yes I was tempted too, but I was kinda pinned in a little. It was a square table, 2 sides were a corner sofa, and chairs on the other 2 sides. I was sat in teh corner of the sofa when they arrived and one took one side of the sofa and another the other side and the third took a chair. So I had one on either side of me. They were being friendly enough, no threatenign behaviour or anything like that. Just that oen guy being a idiot

Well done Jemima, that's brilliant.
I use mine in the pub on the odd occasions that I go there, I've never had an issue like yours though! There's always going to be one drunken asshole let's face it! LOL

Exactly Dee, that's why I'm not to worried about it. I'm sure the same will happen next week and the week after. Just means I can understand more where the no Vaping attitude comes from in some places, unfortunatly. Maybe if I'm on my own, I should try to keep it a bit more stealthy lol

Stealth vaping is easier with a nearly dead carto... I had one prob one day backpacking on buses with my vaping.....stealth vaped as much as possible on the bus after that.. But absolutely no probs on Scotrail vaping...it's quite a talking point.... Even vaped in youth hostels in the middle of nowhere...worse comment I got was 'what's that?' 'an e-cig' 'och have heard of them but never seen one'....fine till Ma uses my e-cig to make friends lol (when she had her own tale of first time backpacking in her 60's ) So proud of you Jemima...well done you...and don't worry about the wee eejit... Never beat yourself up for having the craving for a real cig or if you even have a real cig every now and again, I still very occasionally light a roll up with a liquorish paper, mainly cos I still have some stocks but I find I'm throwing them away after 4 or 5 puffs, tailor mades just taste nasty now so I'm cured of them lol. You need to think of all the cigs that you aren't smoking. Some people make the switch straight away and others take a bit of time. Trick is to let it happen at it's own pace and not even think about it.

Well done Jemima. You're on a roll now. Once you manage to finally abandon the dreaded weed your reward will be a hacking cough, sore throat and possibly mouth ulcers It only lasts a few weeks and then you will be detoxified and have more energy, better skin colour and you'll smell as fresh as a daisy. Apart from a new healthier you, you'll have more money, unless you buy all the new mods being made available, in which case you won't notice the difference;)

The next update I think it's been going well. Friday night I was at my in-laws place, was my neices 9th birthday. They were all quite excited to see my ciggy. My sister in law is very much a "I can smell a smoker at 50 foot" person, and she didnt notice to start with, then was "OMG is that your ciggy? I cant's smell a thing, that's brilliant" So she let me vape in the house Spoke to another lady who's mum has tried e-cigs (the lookalikey sort she bought at a shop in belfast) and didnt get on with it to well cos it was always running out and the battery dying, showed her daughter mine and she asked for all the details of what I had, and I managed to slip the forum info in there too lol. So everyone was really proud of me and I spent most of the night answering questions and showing them all how it worked. Saturday night I was back at the pub. Met another e-cig smoker, another lookalikey owner. her cartridges came in a plastic bottle lol that was odd. she was still smoking when she was out and about as it wasnt enough for her. She had a go of mine and immediatly wanted the details, and then made her hubby have a go too lol. He was also impressed and thoguht it would be better than the one they currently share. I must admit, the lookalikey she had did look very good, just a shame it was so pathertic So I'm still cig free, but very tempted. I do wanna try one but I think thats just to see how it tastes now, but it does smell good standing out with the smokers still. I did notice the ashtray starting to smell though. That just makes me wonder when all the "improvements" start to happen, can't say I've noticed any yet. Still cant taste anythign different and no mouth ulcers or coughing, just the slight ashtray whiff, but I'm wondering if it's cos I havent smelt it for ages so now I notice it, bit like air-freshner syndrome. For now I'm quite happy with my Riva and the cartomiser seems to give me a better draw, vapour and hit than the atomiser and cartridge, been having a little tasteing session on an evening with some of the juices, but so far they all seem to taste the same lol (the tobacco ones at least) I'll keep tryin gthem all though cos one day the taste thing is bound to happen for me
