There's a huge buzz when you make the first 24 hours!
I really didn't ever expect it to happen. Previously I had only gone without a cigarette when I was in hospital....
Not the nicest way of 'not smoking'.
Your taste buds will soon adjust.
I was compelled (LOL) to try an analogue after a week or so of vaping and was relieved to find that it tasted disgusting.
It's taken me 18 months to actually dislike the smell of freshly smoked tobacco tho'. Took me only a couple of days to detect and detest the smell of old cigarette smoke.
It does take a bit of concentration to make the transition...
Sounds as if you are doing well..

Latest update Stil happily vapeing away, even had the mother in law staying a few days and she never drove me back to the ciggies either lol I have been showing a friend over the last few weeks my cig, and every time she says she wants to get one and then I ask if she's ordered one yet and nope she hasn't, even though she keeps telling me how desperate she is to give up the analogues (and this is gonna be her quit smoking technique). I saw a really good deal for a battery on UKV so I figured I'd get that and assemble a kit for her from my stuff and if she didn't take to it then I have an extra battery, if she does then she can pay me what I paid for it. So I told her I had a little pressie for her today, the smile spread across her face liek a kid in a candy shop when she saw it showed her how to put the juice in and she gave it a try and was really impressed. She said shes gonna try with it full time from tomoro, and is calling me her stop smoking sponsor lol. I tried to say to take her time and transition as she feels she must and at her own pace but she said she needs to get off the ciggies asap for medical reasons. So she is putting a lot of pressure on herself to do this, so I'm now in full on cheerleader mode lol I really do hope this is a win for her.

jemima, On the day you actrually decided to vape full time did you just use will power or did you not have any ciggies in the house?
just wondering because each night i tell myself that tomorrow i'll just vape, then when i get up in the morning i just tell myself that i'll just have 1 or 2 fags then vape and it goes downhill from there on lol

Lol Nicky I'm not sure I could call it will power, I still have nearly 2k ciggys sat on my shelf and 60 in my handbag (if I remove them altogether I know I'll want one so they are they if I do). It just seemed to gradually drop off, then when i was down to 2 a day I figured well I'll try it and see how it goes. It went pritty well and not had one since. Dont get me wrong it wasn't a flash or light sudden never gonna smoke again or anythign like that. I've just tried to treat it as much liek a ciggy as possible. Which considering the amount I used to smoke, having it attatched to my hand most of the day isn't a problem lol. Some times I take a few drags at a time and other times it's just in my hand and it's every few mins. I still like the smell of ciggy smoke and whenever my friends go out for one I quite often join them, (all the smell with none of the bad stuff ) but use my riva instead. I did find that the cartomisers made a huge difference in how easy it was to do the change over. with just the carts and atomiser I didn't seem to be getting what I needed, I think it was lack of vapour. Now with the cartomiser I seem to be geting everythign I need and although I have on many many occasions thought about having a real one, the cartomiser seems to be doign the job of keeping me going If you havent tried a cartomiser and want to then I can pop one in the post to you, to have a go with (I know I like to try stuff as much as possible before purchaseing, specially when you worry it will just be a waste of money) The only other thing I would suggest is don't pressure yourself, take your time with it. You have already done so well. I also found the tobacco flavoured juices helped a lot, even if i just sit there and sniff the end of the cartomiser :-[

Pmsl not thought of sniffing the carto..............maybe that's why i'm not succeeding. I have some carto's in fact that's mostly what i use these days........when i'm not smoking. it's just every morning the thought of not having a cig panics me...........ridiculous i know.
I've been away with a heavy smoking family all weekend and my chest feels like i've had a steam roller over it but still i don't completely stop.
Going to make a real concerted effort tomorrow.

Good Nicky - go for it. Hide the analogues just far enough away for the 'urge' to pass. I found the early morning one was difficult to ignore but you'll get there in the end. MM

With me, I wasn't intending to give up, I got them and wanted to try them, I still have a packet of Marlboro Brights and some Amber Leaf in my bag that I brought that morning just incase. I've not had a single urge to smoke since. No will power, just didn't feel like I needed them.
