I think the serious warning Chrissie received from Proboards has been turned into a joke, you are playing with this woman's four years of hard work and possible future.
And although the warning is about Photographs posted I would not be surprised if another warning about editorial content also follows.
Such as this by, plot69, “And God forbid should any of us mention dipping our wicks until they ooze with juice and giving them a good hard suck to clear any blockages”
Of course it is posted in jest as “mature banter” but some will find it offensive.
I see mention of the words “we” and “us” in some of the post's, there is no we and us, it is her (Chrissie's) Forum. She might be generous and correct me here, but it is her Forum and hers to lose. This Forum saves lives. Respect.

Smoking, Vaping, Drinking etc, whilst they can be done when "home alone" actually are rather sociable pursuits and although I do most of my vaping in front of the PC, I like to feel that by writing to this Forum of like minded souls, that I am actually in a social circle.
When in any social company, I am aware of those around me and moderate my language and my jokes to suit that company and I would be embarrassed if anyone took offence to anything I said (or wrote).
AAE-C and its members have helped me more than I can explain and hopefully will be around for many years to come to help the thousands that have yet to find us.
By their timely warning, perhaps this thing from Proboards will help to refocus on the real reasons that we love this group so much. That it gives us access to information, vendors, discounts codes and ideas, right across the Vaping spectrum.

skyeI'm sorry you don't like the "adult" banter, and hope it doesn't put you off posting again. I'd guess we can manage to avoid posting questionable photos without too much strain. Banter is something else. It's not really my thing either, but I think that stopping it would make the forum a less friendly place. Which would be a great pity.

I hadn't realised that the age was 13 up. I'm not about to leave the forum over it or anything, but I'd be happier if it was 18, although I know it won't stop curious 13-year olds.
It's just that if asked, for instance, if I was worried about still being a nicotine addict, I'd phrase the answer differently if I knew there was a 13 year old in the room. I don't feel quite the same way about the possibility of a 13 year old listening outside the door.

Seriously? I find it astonishing that a simple request to exercise some common sense and refrain from posting images of a graphic sexual and debasing nature on a forum such as ours is considered worth leaving over. If we can't have a little respect for each other and Proboards T&C's whist still enjoying our banter and cyber interaction it's a pretty poor do really. The older I get, the less I understand on occasions. Given the anguish there is in the world and in many peoples personal lives, it's not such a big ask really.

First off Chrissie I hope your feeling better.
At the end of the day a request has been made to watch what we post or we could be closed down. Regardless of our personal feelings as to what is offensive and what isn't, we owe it to the mods and the members of this forum to do as we are asked...end of story. We can debate this till the cows come home...but it is as it is.
I am not a prude ( been around too long to be offended easily ) but I have two passions..vaping is one, my football team is another. I used to belong to my football forum but can now no longer even log on to read it. Years ago it started out like this forum, friendly and informative ( which is what we want ..right ) it has now turned into a VILE place to visit. It too started off with banter but over time, degenerated into a place to abuse each other. Rarely can you now express an opinion without a torrent of abuse from the people that don't agree with you.
This forum has helped many, many people. I for one could never have given up smoking without the FRIENDLY help and advice from everyone. If I were to log on now to the football forum ...I would be told to " go away newbie " (but it wouldn't be put in language as clean as that)
I for one do not want to lose this forum...its a great place to converse and learn...so let's just do as we're asked and get on with the job of helping newbies and oldies to enjoy the wonderful world of vaping.

I have found the site becoming almost a vaping forum with porn thrown in, not enjoyable for me anymore. I am gutted to have got involved in a thread asking about the button on the mvp to it suddenly being retitled something about having a stiffy. I would hate members to think I went into it knowing it was silly boy rude. So instead I now take no chances and don't post and that's not because I'm a prude but the site just seems to be going rude for the sake of it. It srops being funny and just becomes vulgar. I am so sorry you feel that way siffy. This is a brilliant forum for the promotion of e-cigs, BUT we all need a bit of humour to lighten our day. Some of the topics may have encouraged double entendres, but the warning we've had from Proboards will have made all of us more careful that we don't lose this voice, or overstep the mark. Don't let us lose this forum, and to you, please don't stop posting. I'm sure lessons have been learned! Raffles I can understand the humour, I honestly can, but would imagine it to be more suited to the lounge than on the general thread. I just think there is a time and place that's all. I like a good carry on film like the next person. I think this warning hopefully might just make people think before they post which does none of us any harm.

I didn't realise it was happening elsewhere other than the lounge. Non vaping subjects shouldn't be anywhere else.

I was suprised to hear that we could very well have minors in the forum at any time. Why on earth should they be concerned about vaping matters at such a young and tender age? I do however agree that matters of a more mature nature do have their place and that is within the "Lounge". Humour is fine when shared with like minded folks and hope that it long may be so and that Chrissie gets no more hassle from "Da Managment"

I have just read the whole of this thread from top to toe, and am disappointed and saddened that this situation has come to pass. At the end of the day, I am merely going to reiterate some of the comments above, but feel I must state my own personal position. This is Chrissie's forum, started by her and managed (brilliantly) by her over the last four years. Proboards have their T&Cs, and as Chrissie has pointed out, we have all agreed to them when joining the forum. This forum has helped me more than I can say, and as others have said, has become a sort of extended family to me. It also exists to help many new vapers each and every day who come here seeking help and advice into the confusing world of vaping. There is absolutely no need to post mild pornography although it doesn't bother me personally. Proboards have their reasons for not wanting this material shown, and that is their right. If this episode makes us all take a pace backwards and think a bit before posting, then that's a good thing. It will ensure that all of Chrissie's hard work along with her team of Moderators isn't lost because of some thoughtless and foolish action. Let's just get on with things, enjoy each other's company and carry on helping each other and our new members, which is why the forum was set up in the first place. Thanks for bringing this to our attention Chrissie, and let's hope it is looked on from the future as a minor and useful blip in the long service of the forum. Andy

I've learned so much and had so much support from here. I applaud all the posts reinforcing what the forum is for and the hard work involved in running it.
Thank you to everyone involved.

Why are some people getting so upset by not being allowed to post 'risky' pictures?
Get a grip for goodness sake..this is our forum and we want to keep it, so if you have any soap boxes to stand on, take your attitudes to another forum.

What is being asked of the members is fair and sensible. It can easily be done and I'm sure it will be. The terms and conditions are another matter. I'm sure most members will live with them, even if they don't like them. However, surely they are allowed to express their opinion? Freedom of speech? Jag. (Still trying to figure out why you would come to a vaping forum looking for "Adult" content ....... )

am i right in thinking Proboards host a multitude of forums and the 13+ is across the board, not just ecigarettes and suchlike? so a sensible rule. i started smoking at a very (i mean VERY) young age and with the help of here, have finally managed to stop. if one of my kids turned to here (specifically AAEC) to help stop smoking, then i would be a happy parent. it doesnt make it right, but i'm happy the advise and help is here to maybe help them. also my kid would get a very tanned backside if they had started smoking when i did !

Seriously, you really don't want to help anyone due to the removal of your bum waggling avatar? I never said that. I said I'd be scared to post anything. Worried, not scared, I've got kids so not a lot scares me. Worried about helping anyone because so many people on here are so easily offended. I'd be worried anything I said, descriptive, analogous, whatever the subject, however innocent, could contain words or phrases that a small minority of people on here would find offensive. And believe me, certain people on here are now going to take it upon themselves to monitor every single word people say. Having to be overly cautious about everything you say, especially on an "Adult" forum isn't going to be fun.
It's nothing to do with my avatar. I never saw the pictures in question, maybe if I did I'd have a better understanding of what the main problem was. What's upset me is the "He said, she said, I'm telling Sir of you" attitude that some people have displayed in their posts to this thread. I been vaping for over two years. I've been, seen and done, not everything but a great deal to do with vaping. There are many areas I believe I can help people with. There are many thing I could still do with help on. But not if I'm going to worried about people running to Miss every time I type something.
