Just think to youself, there are hundreds of people on the streets this winter. How many coats, fleeces, blankets do you have? These people need them, you don't. Why have anything you do not need in your home when other people need them?
errr ... look at my name !!!! jeez .. They need your help, a coat is not vaping gear, you don't need it they do, it may be you one day simples !!!!

sammy13 I hear what you're saying but I never pay full price for my clothes etc and it really annoys me the price charity shops try to sell clothes on for We have a 'Rag Bag' collection thing going on at my work (we raise funds by the Kilo for it) , any time I do a clear out, instead of putting it straight into the 'Rag Bag' I let the group members have a good old rummage I don't know of anywhere local to me that clothes go straight to the needy

I guess I will have to buy new really, as I refuse to accept such little discount on second hand gear. Rant over... Yes. You have hit the nail on the head. I will always buy new more or less. If something is not available and only comes up on the classifieds at RRP or above, then good luck to the Vendor. No problem. My only gripe (and I'm afraid it is not even a small one ) is when something comes up for sale described as "RRP £80" or whatever and we all well know they are no longer £80. That's just somebody hoping to take advantage of a newbie or....well...I'm not sure. Let me put it this way. There is a member on here who has sold £4,500 of kit across 5 internet forums. He doesn't contribute in any way. He gets all sorts of gear from all sorts of backdoor routes as well as buying stuff for real. Then he pops up on here asking £70 for something that is "supposedly" £95, but being sold for £60 across the board. He's been nudged off some forums (i.e. push before shove) and has "connections" (shall we say). In business, this is totally fair and square. Do I think it's good for the forum. No. A nice mod for RRP no longer available....yes, great Something from Fasttech at the current price.... yes, superb (save the 4 weeks wait) Pretending something is more expensive than it really is...very dodgy. Not cool. Not cool at all. Thankfully, these items are few a far between.

You can get accessories, and household goods cheap, but clothing - well it's well over priced. We have St Georges crypt here in Leeds, its a church and the homeless turn up on an evening for a bed. They take clothing and bedding donations, and they are given to the homeless, not sold. I also go direct, and give out to the homeless, rather than giving to charity shops, this is in regards to clothing, bedding etc, as they have no use for household goods.

The problem is djs is new vapers and forum members see what they think is a bargain, jump feet first into a sale with what looks like a reputable forum member, then get burnt. This can only give a bad name to vapers and forums

This can only give a bad name to vapers and forums Exactly. On my last forum (6 long hard years....non e-cig) an established member would gently (or not so gently) point out when something seemed expensive. Sometimes, after the "right to reply" there would be some clarity as to why and how. For example, something would crop up generically described, a member would shout "too much mate" and then it would become clear it was customised or limited edition. I thought making comments was frowned upon on here. If comments are frowned upon, then "bumps" and "ah, that is such a good item, good price too" should also be frowned upon. i.m.o. I think it should be totally justified to link to an item on sale (new) elsewhere in the right circumstances. Like I said....a lot of "high-end" unavailable stuff is fair game. I bet even train spotters and camera boffins have the same "RRP" items on their forums.

Anyone who buys an item (noob or experienced vaper) without having researched the new and estimated second hand value and satisfied him/her self that the price being asked is reasonable taking age and condition into consideration is a fool ... plain and simple.

Not something to be proud of if they did. I'm not questioning the truth of it, just interested as to how you would know so much detail.

OK, fair question, but I am backing out of this thread now, as it has got technical

I've noticed a few people in the classies selling stuff for pretty much RRP and looked at their history only to see they've never contributed in anyway at all and all posts are them selling in the classifieds. The RRP is usually stated as way above the actual RRP too.
Those are the sellers I avoid. Because they're obviously just interested in cash.

djs & Jerri the best way to deal with these sort of classified issues is to report the posts so the forum staff can look into them.
