Thanks Romelee, do I just put a piece of cotton wool through the microcoil then snip of of the same as I do with the silica wick, I only have evods and protanks so far so nothing fancy yet. Although my protank is tasting great I'm getting a lot of gurgling and more juice on battery connector than with original heads. Im using 2mm silica in my microcoil and three further strands of silica on top , do I just add additional strands one at a time to stop leaking / gurgling ?

Little update :- So I placed my order with the Vape Mesh Company and received my 50 metres of 0.25 A1 kanthal, there was a couple of nice surprises in the packet, first a letter to say I was one of two daily secret Santa winners and therefore received double my order free of charge, so 100 metres of 0.25, that should last a while Secondly I received a little free gift of a small coil of 0.4 * 0.1 ribbon wire, not sure what to use this for yet but I'll have a play and see what I can create. I then received an email apologising for the original wire mix up and I know have a rol of 0.2 kanthal in the post FOC. So followed the fantastic guide Romelee posted allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/post/575580/thread and used 11 turns round 2mm driver to give 2.3 ohms then in with the cotton wool, big bag of balls from tesco for a quid. Followed the above thread to the letter apart from an extra turn, had my tea while it settled and then WOW. My best vape to date, 9w on the MVP2 and the vapour production is fantastic and the taste of black gold is just outstanding. Thanks to all for all the help and in particular Super-Shiny Right now I'm a very very satisfied

The problem I have is with the well-known-to-me taste of hot metal. I get it nearly all the time. I re-set up the Iatty last night - and there is was, hot coil taste again. Horrible. Anyhow, I placed two strands of wick above the ceramic cup/coil arrangement. They are just about staying in there I think. Bad taste gone. I have come to the conclusion that wires too loose (not wrapped tight) leaves glowing coil without juice. (i.e. dry hit) The best flavour ones were all produced wrapping the coil around a "bit" (in my case a nail) and sliding the wick in. wrap a piece of rizla around the mesh wrap the coils tight and when the paper burns you're left with a perfect fit and it carbonizes the mesh to help reduce hotspots.
