First off, my NB arrived, but I have no clue how long it is good for, this will make me decide how much to buy. How long is PG NB good for ? VG or AG NB ? Also why is VG based more popular ? What is the taste(or other) difference between them ? Ty

The most common view is that nic base is good for a couple of years if stored in a cool dark place. This can be extended by putting it in the freezer (in glass bottles as plastic can taint the flavour)
I'm not sure that VG is more popular than PG. However, as flavours are PG based you sometimes need VG base to get your ratio right.
VG gives more vapour and a slightly sweet taste, whereas PG gives more throat hit

I think OneDay has it right. Only things I'd add is that sometimes people want very high vg for permanent or temporary medical conditions, and sometimes when I've been buying VG has been slightly more expensive. If you know what % vg you want to vape you can work it out. If you are buying a high % nic it may not matter much. If you aren't, and you vary your vg % you may need to get both.

I buy my Nic Base by the litre and I don't want to be defrosting and then refreezing litre bottles each time I want to use some so I have ten 100ml glass bottles of PG Nic Base and five 100ml of VG Nic Base all in the freezer. That way I only need to take out 100ml each time. The rest of my PG and VG Nic Base is just left in the bottles it came in but is also in the freezer. Neither the PG nor the VG will freeze as such. It just goes very cold and gloopy. So there is no chance of it expending and cracking the glass bottles. I buy my bottles here;- www.ampulla.co.uk/AMBER-GLASS-SIROP-BOTTLES/c-7-196/

Informed opinion seems to be that stored in glass, in the freezer, then the shelf life will be indefinite. I make VG heavy mixes because of a PG sensitivity, which developed after 18 months of vaping. I'm also finding that with BCC's a VG eliquid seems to give considerably less leakage issues, than a heavy PG can do. And the underlying sweetness compliments the dessert/candy flavours I prefer.

Like lobeydosser I have 10 x 100ml glass in the freezer for "next to be used" purpose but also 1 litre still in the plastic bottle. I am now a little concerned about the plastic bottle, having read OneDay 's comment about plastic tainting the liquid .... not that I am doubting him but is this for definite and do I need to buy another 30 x 100ml glass bottles for the 1 litre that I have and the 2 litres that are coming from ukric's group buy?

I'd get it decanted into glass myself Freefrom . . . not only can the nicotine leech in plastic, but plasticizers can also leech into the liquid. I don't have a link immediately to it, but there's a chemist on ECF who has written some very good pieces on nicotine base and it's long term storage.

@freefromsmoking - I have 5 x 100ml in the freezer. I'll put 700ml of my 'ukric' base in a baileys bottle and 2 more 100ml glass bottles with a bit to spare. Then, when all the 100mlbottles are finished I'll decant the big bottle into them. No need to buy loads of 100ml bottles that way

I'm sure I can lay my hands on the odd empty dark glass wine bottle or six

I am very sceptical of anything that is concerned with "long term storage" of anything to do with e-cigs. E-cigs and E-juice has not been around long enough for anyone to have done any "long term" tests on anything to do with them. So while I respect Perpetua 's advice, I am yet to be convinced that Nic Base would react with plastic in the long term.

just be careful of the taste left behind of wine bottles
i use empty jam jar glass bottles ,these dont leave a taste in the jars
i tried to use pickled onion jars but you just cant get rid of the vinegar smell,,so never used them
stick with jam jars /as family to save them for you

Hopefully that should suffice but if not, I would rather risk a wine taste than a sweet jam taste

Agreed, who's to say for certain . . . but I guess those more knowledgeable than I have also looked at the effects storing any liquid long term in plastic can have Lobey. Plus if we're going to the expense of buying quantities of nic base it seems a bit silly to not try and store it in the best way thought possible. That's my thinking anyway.

Well as I don't drink anything that comes in glass bottles, I guess I will just have to take my chances with the bottles they came in.
