Cheap TV wars in Asda Belfast and Bristol

When this was reported on the teatime news, I thought it was a windup but apparently people were resorting to fisticuffs over cheap TVs in the Belfast and Bristol branches of Asda. I know that in N. Ireland we have been known to fight over some pretty stupid things but TVs really takes the biscuit.

Also in Wigan.. My girlfriend works on the customer service desk. Apparently people fighting in the car park. Indoors thing were much calmer...people in a rage where just slamming trolleys into each other

Some people can get very ugly if they see others getting a better deal than them. What I couldn't understand is they didn't put a limit, especially on the TVs, as some were walking out with 2 or 3. Asking for trouble that... just check the local car boot sales over the next few weeks.

Yeah apparently some guy bought 3 40 inch TV's and was bragging after paying about going home and listing them on eBay...
One of the night staff from Asda was assaulted i believe. She had finished her night shift, then queued outside (so therefore a customer) and picked up a 37" TV.
Apparently another woman grabbed her by the arm trying to separate her from the trolley. All the while screaming expletives that she wasn't allowed to have it because she was an employee.. The attacker had her toddler daughter with her..

I've seen grown women fighting in the aisles over the sprouts on Xmas Eve... and seen grown men fighting over the latest release of 'Call Of Duty' when one of them took the last two off the display!
