Update from FT the ones shipped from now on have ss decks and replacement ss deck are being sent out for older orders if a ticket is lodged.

Any idea how long VB will take to get here... what's this about SS stuff lazydog....does you stuff stop the cross threading?

The ones previously shipped from fast tech where all stainless steel except for the deck itself, they have now corrected this for all further shipments and are sending out replacement part for the ones already shipped.
I dont know about the VB ones sorry.

The deck is the bit where you attach the wick right?

@johanino lazydog is posting about the deck (where you fasten your wick/coil to the posts) some Taifun sent out (like mine) with chrome plated brass deck, which could cause health probs if plating peels off exposing the brass to the juices used.

I have asked for replacement s/s deck.

Other stainless part is the `tank` which is an extra not supplied as standard.

I ordered one as the threads on the plastic tank are very very fine and can cross thread very easily, as I found out.
Managed to correct it fortunately.

Hope this clears up your query.(mine supplied by Fasttech)

If you ordered from Fasttech, they are sending the current batch with the replacement stainless steel base. If yours arrives with the chromed brass base, do as lazydog suggests and raise a ticket and add it to the thread on the FT site.
If you ordered from VB, I'm not sure what they are doing about the problem of misrepresenting it as all stainless steel when the base ain't.

YEP  ... just indicate that the goods delivered are not as described (chromed brass base when described as all SS)  ... when you get your ticket number add it to the thread that lazydog linked to

I am not sure, @johanino. I had a long wait for it and then it didn't appear on tracking until 2nd December. Maybe it will arrive before Christmas. The tank is already registering on tracking so maybe that will arrive first.

The chrome will look a lot shinier than the stainless steel. If you want to, you can scrape a corner of the deck ... if brass shows through, you have a chromed brass base.

I have just checked my order at FT and the status has gone from shipped to pending. It looks like they are sending out the SS base as I now have a little picture of it in my order.
