We had snow about 1230. Other than that sunshine and winds...just wish I didn't have the flu

We had to go pick up my little granddaughter from school earlier. Poor wee mite was in the playground and literally got blown off her feet. She smacked her face on the Tarmac and has had a terrible nose bleed and lots of grazes on her nose and cheeks. She tends to lose balance easily as she has a club foot. Thankfully she didn't lose any teeth!!

Blownupdolly hope the little one is OK, must have been scary for her. The winds have died down here now, but what a bloody awful day, even more so for those further north. Hope everyone is OK.

Thanks Raff. She'll live to fight another day. The school couldn't contact mum, but I'm listed as an alternative contact. Must have been a fair old nose bleed as her clothes were covered in blood. A big nanna cuddle in my chair and a bowl of tomato soup soon cheered her up.

I hope everyone gets home safe today. I certainly won't be going out again!

Poor little thing...its amazing what a cuddle from Nanny can do though..hope her face isn't too sore

I made it back out of South Wales, when I went over both Severn Bridges were open, on the way back the old one was closed. I DID NOT want too spend the night stuck in Cardiff or Newport (shudder).

It's going to hit us here later this evening...........

Ma is worried about getting evacuated and telling me not to worry. How can I worry? I can't do anything. If the flat floods it floods. Nowt I can do....just wish she'd charged the digital phone days ago and didn't insist on telling me how the weather is in aberdeen when she's down south and just listens to the news

It is dreadful weather. I really do not cope very well when it affects Electricity, no phones, lights, tv, radio, mobiles, music or PS3!
Reminds me of the war days, in the shelters, miserable, cold and tired at night times, then, someone would start with the children's jokes and we would all start laughing again.

A good sense of humour can overcome the most dire situations.

Woohoo! Got home half an hour ago! That was a very odd day: a day trip to Newcastle with absolutely no purpose to it
