hi,
Just got me new Vamo today yippee well pleased with it so far.
need some advice on wattage etc.
I have put a pro tank 2 on it which is 2.6 ohm's but have spare coils of 1.8 ohm's (was originally going to use pro tank2 on 3.7 V ego y battery then got the Vamo)
if i use the 2.6 ohm what min and max wattage do you suggest. if i use the 1.8 ohm what min and max wattage do you suggest. what would work best overall.
If I use an iclear30 2.1 ohm what min and max wattage do you suggest.
any other tips for the Vamo ?

No such thing as min or max wattage. It's a very individual thing. It's like asking what temperature do you recommend that I drink my coffee at if you get my meaning.
Adjust up and down and find your sweet spot for the attachments (resistance) and juice. If you get burnt taste or it's too harsh go down and if you get a wimpy vape try it at a higher setting.
7 watts is a good starting point. Does not take long to settle on what suits you best.

As above, it's all personal preference but I use wattage rather than volts, becuase that way I get the same experience when I swap attys with different resistances.
I usually vape at 8 watts, but move it up or down depending on how I feel. I don't vary it much - for me, the window is between 7 and 9 watts usually.
The other day, a particularly bad day, I was vaping red astaire at 13.5 watts because I accidentally clicked the button in my pocket. It was quite a shock when I took a pull, but certainly not unpleasant - just WOAH!

Once you find your preferred watt setting with one device, in theory that will give you a very similar vape if you swap to something with a different resistance coil on it. In practice the vape you get is not just about a coil, airflow and wick has a huge effect, so you may need to fine tune.

The watts should be the same for both ohm resistances. The watts is the power to the atty, which determines taste, vapour, how likely it is to burn. You might like to vary it with the juice, but the atty resistance shouldn't matter. My watts is currently set to 8.5 for a dual coil nova (like your iclear), I might turn it up a little for my protank. but the protank has a microcoil, which takes a bit more power without burning (I think). I've had the watts up to 14 on an aga-t
Main tip for the vamo is to be careful not to overtighten the atty on it - the washer thing that sits below the post tends to go. Also if it suddenly starts burning your juice, check it hasn't gone into N01 mode (don't use N01).
If you are using low res and it starts to feel feeble, it may be because the battery is running low. It will try to keep the power up, but starts to lose the battle at about 3.5 volts.
Oh, and when you take your protank or iclear off it, remember to unscrew by turning the bottom of the atty, or you'll get a lap full of juice.

Thanks I was more wondering the danger points for blowing the Vamo or burning the juice. not tried above 7.5 watts on any unit so far but by ur comments its fairly safe apart from burning the juice.

I've been using the vamo for about 6 months now and find it depends on a lot to do with what type of flavored e-juice you use as well. I'm mainly a fruit e-juice fan and find with the pro tank 2 @ 4.5 watts is my sweat spot

I normally like to vape at much higher watts than any electronic device can produce. The reason this works for me is that the wicks I use feed much faster than pre made wicks can manage.

This might help to understand the principle of VW mode:

I normally vape around 10 watts on my Vamo with an IClear 30 on top .. Took a good couple of months to find what worked best ... But I will vary it up or down depending on which juice I'm using ... 4.5 watts doe as sound very low and I'm surprised anyone using power that low is getting much out of it at all

I leave my SID on 7.5w nearly all the time now. (Got back into VW after...VV)
I made up a 1.2ohm Protank last weekend and stuck it on a mechanical mod.
Since vaping at 14 watts (just the odd puff, for fun really), I feel 7.5w is somewhat "lacking"
In relation to the other question....a few horrible puffs won't hurt.

I'm mainly a fruit e-juice fan and find with the pro tank 2 @ 4.5 watts is my sweat spot I find that to be about my sweet spot on a PT2 also with the Vamo. I was beginning to think it was only me. And that is regardless of whether it is an original head or recoiled. However, the last week or so I have been happily vaping 9-10 watts on my Aspire BDC on the SID. Has been great admittedly.
