Attempting to lower Nicotine strength!!

Then I'm like 'will you open that window more?'  then,  'will you shut that blo*dy window, it's freezing in here'

I'm giving him a lift in my car at the weekend and he'll happily light up in there as well    then he'll say,  ' I'll open the window'   

Exactly the same !!! My OH still smokes and I can't stand the smell it's vile ! Oh and sick of the kitchen window open and freezing in the car with the windows down !! I am starting to sound like my mum ! A reformed smoker for 30 years who was always going on about the smell to me ! Now I can sit with her and vape and she loved the smell of red Astaire today .... She was even tempted to have a puff .... But I had to explain about the nic !! Might make her her zero content juice to have a go !

Going to the weekly quiz in our local club tonight. When we started going, we went out to the smokers shelter, but now vape inside no problem. Popped out during the break last week to speak to someone and it nearly choked me in there. Just makes you realise how much you stank when smoking and how unpleasant it is.

My OH still smokes, only about 3 a day, and always outside under our carport. I still realise with a shock every time she comes in how much of a smell she carries around with her after a fag, and there was me thinking that a quick wash of my hands and an extra strong mint and no-one would know I was a smoker.
Just occasionally I will get a whiff of fresh tobacco smoke (un-inhaled) and it really smells delicious, but the thought of putting one to my lips - nah!
We were on holiday in France back in the summer (seems so long ago . . . ) and my wife had gone to bed before me. I was sat out in t-shirt and shorts at 11.30pm finishing my wine (or was it a generous dollop of Ricard!) and she had left her 'holiday fags' (my daughter still doesn't know she smokes all the time!!) on the table. My relaxed and slightly intoxicated head persuaded me to smoke one, and I did. Tasted pretty naff (Chesterfield, I think!) and I immediately picked up my Gingerbread Caramel and vaped away - far more satisfying. If I can smoke just the odd fag, I'm happy - I've had exactly three since I gave up in September 2012, so not doing at all bad on that front!

I shall be vaping zero nicotine liquid from this weekend although I am using some zero liquid at the moment but I still have a small amount of 1mg left, I have reduced my nicotine by 1mg every 4 to 6 weeks with no withdraw symptoms at all. Dave

so do you think you will continue to vape when down to zero ? It's a big part of my life and hobby ( addiction;) mainly shopping !) plus I've spent too much to stop even if if I did wean of the nic!

In all honesty I have no particular intention of cutting down the nic much - I don't drink decaffeinated coffee and I'm hopelessly addicted to caffeine (as in non functioning without it) but it doesn't really do me any harm and I enjoy it so why worry about it.

I kind of take the same view with vaping - I generally use 18mg premix although I mix my own at around 14mg - mainly because it makes the numbers easy when mixing 30mls from Tjuice concentrates and it seems to hit the spot sufficiently. I enjoy vaping, much as I ultimately enjoyed smoking (I didn't really enjoy the smell, the increasing feeling of being a social outcast, the cost oh and the fact it kills you) but the actual act itself - very pleasant. And I think that's why this has worked for me where nothing else ever has - I've not had to give up anything - just swapped it for something else that scratches the itch in the same way but without the drawbacks. I've no desire to risk that by reducing the nic and perhaps heading back on the slippery slope back to fags.

Infact the only real reason I can see for cutting back the nic is the worry about the EU situation - other than that I'm happy to be vaping at the level I do now indefintley - its not really harming me, I enjoy it and its preventing an otherwise deadly habit - why on earth do I want to rock that boat.

I'll be six months next week - I can't say I haven't thought about a cig since then, but other than slight curiosity I've had no burning desire to set light to anything in my mouth in that time - to be honest that kind of status quo is not something I'm willing to risk lightly...

I started out with the 24-36mg juices and decided that I needed to lower it
What I did was to arm myself with a calculator and using cocomel in zero - low - medium and high strengths mixed them together to make the various strengths and then vaped each for a few days to find the lowest that I could vape and still be satisfied- I settled on 15mg, it's enough to satisfy my nic craving without over compromising flavour and throat hit. Any lower and I found myself chain vaping
That was a good 18 months ago
High strength juices will give me a nic OD very quickly now and I'm very used to 15mg so it probably would make sense for me to retry the same experiment again and see whether or not I can get it lower- not this side of christmas though

I can't see a problem with Vaping 0% Juice, I am hoping to get there myself oneday. At the minute though I'm not enjoying the "Rush" from Nicotine, like when I stopped Smoking I had actively begun to dislike it and the effects it had, I am enjoying Vaping and have used it shamelessly to fill the void left by not Smoking. Vaping didn't stop me Smoking, I've just found I enjoy Vaping instead. I do like the Hit that Nicotine gives, I'm just going to try a bit less of it on each Vape

I tend to find the better the atty the less i need to have high nicotine levels, when i used evods/protanks etc etc i used 24mg, now that i use Kayfun/Spheroid i can only use 16mg or else the throat hit from the nic base @ 24mg hurts to much, so in spending more on a atty like the Kayfun/Spheroid has wavered the cost on nice base (this is based on mixing my own juices ofc so i don't have to use as much nic base)

So win win and more money saving on using less nic base = shinys

Yes I will carry on vaping at zero nicotine probably for the rest of my life as I feel my addiction is as much to the mechanics of smoking which is why I found it so easy to switch to vaping, that was nearly 19 months ago and I can honestly say I have never craved conventional smoking since I started vaping. I think the "Messing" with something is a major part of why I enjoy Vaping @darch, I used to Roll Fags, for 30+ years, and that void is as hard to fill as the Smoking bit!
