At the moment I'm Vaping 18mg Nicotine strength, I think its too much and I don't want to Vape less, just less nicotine every Vape. What are Vapers experiences lowering Nicotine and what Pitfalls are there? I vape a VTR and iClears normally, and am HOPING to succesfully build a Coil to use on a Rebuildable with a Touchwood MOD.

I started on 18mg as I considered myself an average smoker. After a brief affair with 24mg which I soon found to be too strong, I am now down to 12mg, although I do mix at 10mg when making my own juices. I have some 8mg JooseJuice Caramel Blend in an iClear 16 for last thing at night and this helps me to get off to sleep - too much nic and my heart pounds rather disconcertingly!! I gradually weaned myself down from 18mg, mixing juice at 16, 14 and then 12mg over the course of about 4 months. I now find 18mg almost too strong, with headaches, an itchy throat and nausea if I vape too much. Take it slowly, and you will not notice any appreciable difference over a few months. OK, the first 2 days you might vape a bit more to compensate, but after that you will quickly settle down with the gradual decrease. Best of luck, and let us know how it's going!

In the main the better your setup vapers the lower the concentration Works better. I use rebuildable stuff, mostly genesis, and use 12mg/ml and I'm Considering dropping to 10 when I do my next mix.

However quickly or slowly you drop your nic level, be aware that if you are an ex-smoker, your body will "need" its nicotine fix for rather a long time.
This is where NRT products fall flat on their a*se. They only supply you with a dose of nicotine for a set period. After that you are on your own and for many of us, it is after the dosage stops that the cravings return.
By all means cut you nic levels, but after you do so, continue to vape that lower strength for quite a few months. Don't rush it. Give your body time to adjust to this new lower level in a variety of different situations, before reducing it further.
We all like the idea of lowering our nic levels, but your body may have a different idea of how low you can safely go.
I speak from my own experience here. I lowered mine from 24mg to 20mg and all went well for a couple of weeks, then the next thing I knew I was dreaming about smoking and then, after a week or so I started craving cigarettes during the day. I went back on the 24mg and both the dreams and the cravings stopped immediately.
Please, please, please, take this easy and if you get to the stage of thinking cigarette, go back onto your previous MG Level!!!!

I've several strengths that I use, depending on the situation keepitgoin . . . for work use where there's limited vaping opportunities 18mg and at home around the 10mg mark. That way I get the best of all worlds, without feeling any cravings or overdoing the nic.

I started on 24 then tried to lower after a few weeks , tried 11 and even 6 but I was kidding my self realistically ! I now am around 18 but can vape lower on an evening as I do tend to chain vape ! I'm with perpetua here! Different strengths for different situations! Just do it really gradually I'm planning to lower my main dose of 18 when my mixing gear comes ! Maybe only to 16 but I'm not going to rush any lower , good luck with lowering your nic level ( but keep some high strength in a clearo for emergencies !! I have a 24 clearo which has in the past stopped me reaching for a fag )

When I first started, I tried 18mg, way too strong, so settled for 11/12mg for a good while, but now I vape homemade 6mg & sometimes 0mg. It's more about the action & flavour for me & I do vape quite a bit. I do find that zero nic is like decaf coffee or non alcoholic beer, you do know that something is missing & it's not as enjoyable, so not something for all day, but good for a break & a try of different flavours & OK for strong flavours.

I generally use 18mg, but have a few ready mixes at 24 for cravings or when out and about and cant vape too much. I have started mixing my red astaire T -Juice concentrate at about 12mg nic. as I hammer it so easily have just polished off 1ml tank in a couple of hours so I tend to chain vape of an evening and I'd noticed I was getting headachy before I mixed lower strength. So I'd like to lesson my nicotine addiction but for now I'm just happy to be smoke free

Smoking has ended for me, and I will keep "tail ends" of my favourite Flavs @18mg, but I have been noticing a strange "Head Rush" if I havn't Vaped for a while (I'm normally a very heavy Vaper) and am assuming it's Nicotine. The reaching for a Fag has gone (I think) and reducing Nicotine in my All Day Vape is summat I want to work towards

weirdly enough -- now I've thrown myself totally into vaping. Am completely fixated on never having another cigarette - my mum is starting to irritate me, she call round, opens patio door and goes outside and smokes, shes being thoughtful and all I can think is "hurry up will you, your letting all my heat out" And when we went shopping last week she annoyed the hell out of me sparking up the minute we got out of one shop...and I had to wait a whole cigarette length time before we could go into a new one whereas I just had a quick toke on my e-ciggie and was ready to roll! Oh no! I hope I dont morph into one of those evangelical ex-smoker types (that always peeve me right off!)

Oh no! I hope I dont morph into one of those evangelical ex-smoker types (that always peeve me right off!) There's a certain inevitability with the best will I think Pep . . . I shared the smoking shelter at work the other day, made sure I stood well out of the way of the lad smoking as I thought, I don't want that smell on me. Horribly hypocritical really and makes me appreciate what I put my ( very tolerant ) non smoking friends through.

YES! I'm starting to find 'Au de smoke' a bit vile and Mum talks about 'my weird flavours' ... when I'm thinking "Why would you limit yourself to just bonfire taste?"

My hubby still smokes and I find myself doing the *cough* 'that stinks etc! cause it blummin well does stink! Then I'm like 'will you open that window more?' then, 'will you shut that blo*dy window, it's freezing in here' I'm giving him a lift in my car at the weekend and he'll happily light up in there as well then he'll say, ' I'll open the window'

Oh no! I hope I dont morph into one of those evangelical ex-smoker types (that always peeve me right off!) I have found that I approach Vaping differently to Smoking, I have a Vape, and put down my Device, do stuff, have a puff, put it down and so on. Whereas when I was Smoking it was where and how the next Fag would fit in, and finish it before the next thing. With Vaping it won't go out, get wet or need me to stop what I'm doing for the few minutes while I Rolled up. I find Vaping very different, still delivering Nicotine but enabling other stuff to happen where Smoking didn't. I prefer this Habit!!
