A magnet is a magnet. I don't quite subscribe to the theory that the original magnets will perform better. I guess it depends what strength the magnets are. I can only assume that Atmomixani supply magnets fit for purpose and that they will replicate the dynamics of the spring, so you could stand the Nemesis up with an Atty on top without firing. But as you say, simply fit an extra magnet if required. Mmmm. A magnet is indeed a magnet, but it is like saying that all stainless steels are the same but unfortunately they are not. It may well be that I paid over the odds and got the same magnets, but I could be pretty certain that they would work in the Nemesis, so I was prepared to pay that price.

I never said all stainless steel is the same..I am well aware of the differences.
The magnet on the nemesis replaces the spring..It has bugger all to do with conductivity or performance. That was my point in response to the theory that they would perform better.
If anyone else happy to pay over the odds I am not going to stop them..

Instead of me buying the ones from Atmomixani with their price and P+P charges i just went for these on a GB on UKV.
£6.50 for 10 of them including P+P N42 - 17mm x 10mm x 1mm neodymium ring magnets from a UK supplier, these would be custom made. These magnets are NOT silver coated / plated
Should get them January sometime.

I got these N35 magnets myself and while they do the job adequately, I have gone back to the springs which I have found to be a lot stronger. With the springs, I have no need to lock the switch even when setting it down with an 18650 battery + Taifun GT on board whereas the magnets couldn't hold this load. I may at some stage order the proper N45 magnets from Pink Mule but at the moment I am quite happy with the performance of the standard springs. ETA: I have just tried maccafan 's method with two of the N35 magnets on the bottom and one on the top and it works great ... holds the weight of the 18650 battery + the Taifun GT without the locking ring no problem ... Just needed to leave the screw a little looser to give enough switch throw ... Cheers for the tip mate.

I am involved on that group buy as well, quite a bargain imo, exact same specs as the original (afaik) except not silver coated.

I think I'm understanding this correctly - for the magnets to perform like the spring they need to be the right strength and it would appear that this is a minimum of N42, but probably N45. Some of the cheaper versions are N35 and these might require using three magnets. I don't know why the subject of conductivity was introduced - this doesn't seem relevant.

A minor misunderstanding/crossed wires about the word "performance". That's all, nothing major.
For me when people talk about performance in relation to a mech mod, it has to do with mod conductivity.

Performance of a spring verses the performance of a magnet, or one magnet verses another was the relevance I think, but I can understand the association.
I have another mod that I have replaced the stock magnets, and fitted a spring and the firing button was much better and smoother with the spring. Strange how different combinations work better in some mods. All down to design I suppose.

Mine works fine with 2 x N35 if I have a Pulse G lookalike on top in 18650 mode + kick and I can stand it up with no issues.
When I put a fully filled AGA-T on top it needs 2 X N35 magnets back to back on one side or it can't be stood up. I doubt even N42 magnets will take the weight if it has a AGA-T on top. More likely needs a N50.
So it's all down to individual configuration and needs. For example the battery that I am using, I cannot use the Kick ring and have to use just the 3 sections. If I use the kick ring the switch bottoms out and becomes unusable.

I've gone back to using the spring... I found that when the switch had to be screwed further out to accommodate some battery / kick combinations that one of the magnets kept popping out the side....

I can't remember right now ... Their exterior diameter is 19 mm but not sure of the interior .. But the hole is too big which allows them to slide about... I need to get better fitting one methinks

I can't remember right now ... Their exterior diameter is 19 mm but not sure of the interior .. But the hole is too big which allows them to slide about... I need to get better fitting one methinks Sounds like these.. You can use a felt washer (with the right size hole) on top of them to prevent the top one causing any aggro if needs be.. I would imagine that flat top batteries would help too in that switch throw would be reduced.. Problem is they're only N35 and so not very strong.. Mine kept firing in 18500 mode with a Kayfun 3,1 on top if left on a surface unlocked... Not ideal!! Put them in the drawer and put the spring back in.. No confidence!! I now use the proper N45 ones and can have it in 500 mode with an extended Kayfun on top with no unintended firing even when left unlocked.. Bought mine from Vapist.net., well worth £11 for the peace of mind.. Just wish they had more come into stock! Want to buy another couple of pairs for when I buy another Nemmy..

Yep .. I think you're right .. Slightly wrong size and not quite strong enough ... I'll get new year out of the way and try with some better ones
