e-cigs are expanding massively in the young age group. Anybody thinking otherwise needs to get out there and witness.

Most seem to be on the zero nic "shisha" (thankfully) but clearly some are going to use nicotine liquid.

I'd let them get on with it. If all the "Mums" are losing their rags about this, maybe they should spend some time talking to their children (educating them) rather than bitching on the internet.

It's an interesting thread and thanks for posting. I just wonder how easy it is to buy the kit? Maybe the politicians should speed up the necessary laws to prohibit the sale to minors (with the the nic version carrying the same penalty as tobacco)....rather than deciding whether 1, 2 or 3ml refillables in the best option.

Any school which has not put policies into place is bang out of order i.m.o. Vaping e-shisha in the classrooms.... honestly

Very true. I read it in the Daily Mail. The headline was horrific, probably something like "My 2 month old son caused house prices to crash by inhaling crack into his eyeballs with an e-cigarette given to him by immigrant terrorist paedophiles"

They apparently have led to a higher sales of normal fags because of exactly that reason.

Yes, it's very clear that vaping is a gateway into smoking, just like drinking water is a gateway into alcoholism.

So essentially smokers often do both to get a bigger hit. They are not just water and nicotine, for a start they are flavoured - that is the first clue, and the flavour is inhaled too as is the 'pure' liquid (no this is not pure glacial spring water).

Oh my God! Those evil e-cig companies misled me. There I was thinking that I had found a new, healthier way of consuming nicotine by inhaling nothing but pure water! Oh well, I suppose that if I had started inhaling water I'd be an alcoholic by now.

There is a human lethal dose for inhaling nicotine, god knows what it does to little developing lungs.

Note to self: Try to remember to give baby the bottle instead of the protank next time.

Nicotine is still teratogenic (causes horrible problems in developing foetuses) and still causes cardiovasular illnesses. And looks utterly ridiculous, as do people who claim it should be sold in holland and barratt.

Nicotine does indeed look utterly ridiculous (but not quite as absurd as water, which has me in stitches whenever I look at it.)

However, it will be fascinating to epidemiologists who can finally look at disease outcome and link it more conclusively to nicotine, so I bet they are delighted, as basically it is one giant human experiment so at least the white lab mice are being spared."

It's nice to end on a positive note. We might be killing ourselves and corrupting the nation's youth with deadly devices full of a liquid that's almost as dangerous and ridiculous as water, but ultimately this doesn't really matter because mice obviously matter more than human beings. Phew, I almost got worried there!

Great post, but you might have gone too far when you told them about how many vegetables contain nicotine. Now they're going to think that the 'eat 5 a day' campaign was an evil conspiracy between the government and Big Tobacco.

I totally understand why you want to prevent unfair legislation from being passed against vapers, but persuading people to discriminate against greengrocers instead isn't the answer. And you should spare a thought for all those poor kids who are going to go to bed constipated tonight because of your post.
