Got to admit the awful weather has been getting to me as well OneDay Last night, the noise from the wind & rain (plus some thunder) was worse than ever & today it's never really got light. It's even getting to my cats & being Maine Coons, they are normally so laid back, but they have been quite edgy today especially.

We've been lucky here in the NW OneDay, it rained this am but otherwise it's been really mild today. I've been struggling with another kind of wind but I put it down to the excessive eating over the festive period The headaches could be because of the low pressure though, let's hope it moves on soon

Lol, I know the feeling mafkees1233 One of my new years resolutions was to go for a walk every day. Er, not a good start as I just poked my nose out the door & gave up on the idea for today.

I have had that feeling since authumn Chrissie but we run a livery yard and have to take care of 15 horses, no matter what the weather is. My last day off was the 6th of november...the next will be around the end of april, when the weather is good enough to leave the horses out over night. Can't wait...118 days...and counting :-P

Ooof, mafkees1233, that must be really tough on you! I'm about 30 miles south west of Chrissie, and the wind has been almost non-stop for about 10 days now, with another week at least to go, followed by a more seasonal but colder spell (I have a Met. friend at RNAS Culdrose!). Like everyone else, it's beginning to become wearing for me too. I'm also aiming to walk every day which is fine while I'm on holiday but as soon as school starts again, I'll be back to working early evenings, so a walk after work is out of the question. Roll on the lighter evenings!!!!!

mafkees1233 how are the horses coping with the weather, I know from past experience how spooked they can get when it's windy. OneDay sorry for going a tad off topic, but in a way I'm not. Many animals are affected by windy weather as it messes with their instincts - it throws them off balance physically & mentally & I think it does the same to us, even though we might not realise it.

Interesting Chrissie, I didn't know that but it makes a lot of sense. My pupils are uncontrollable on a windy day, but I had never really connected the two. I must admit I feel unsettled when it blows hard and long, suppose this is all attributable to the same sensations.

Mrs Oneday is a TA and has often commented on the effect a windy day has on the pupils - always makes them 'hyper' she says

The wind comes and goes up here but the rain, the ground is totally waterlogged and it's all mud, I've developed an aversion to mud as I've gotten older, maybe need to get back to my mud pie days and stop being a grumpy old git lol
Got a huge pile of wood to saw up and split for next winter too, come on the sun and dry weather, even if it's freezing I don't care, as long as it's a bit drier.

The forecast is for yet more - I can't remember a period of sustained gales like this. It's driving me nuts I had enough of the wetness and the wind for one day. So, when I sobered up it was all better. The headaches could be because of the low pressure though, let's hope it moves on soon I used to dismiss all this kind of stuff as old wives' tales, but this morning I felt totally hungover and knackered and I'd nowt to drink last night. Checking the weather sites (xcweather.com) I saw there was a massive deep depression right over me - bbuger. As it moved away, I picked up. I never really took seriously, all those older ones who'd complain about their joint pains and the weather, but it's all true - dammit.
