I have mixed some Capella Vanilla Custard at 8%, but to me something is missing with the taste. Do you think a few drops of Caramel would be ok Or any other suggestion Griff

8% is very low for a VC recipe. Think in terms of 20% minimum as a total of flavouring in a VC juice. Suggestions above are all good additions. Also a cream flavour to taste. And remember that custards need to steep for a long time before they come into their own; some people say 2 weeks, I'd say that's the bare minumum.

Perpetua thanks for the suggestion to increase the % more I have put 4% caramel in and will up the % on VC to a total of 12% and see what it`s like in a few days. I am lucky in that I still have good tastes buds, which for my age is quite good Griff
