What cigarettes were/are you smoking? I started on 24mg (on a rubbish e-cig) went straight down to 18mg on my "kit". I can get by on 12mg these days. I smoked roll-ups. (1.0mg minimum) I'm currently smoking about 10 Marlboro lights/day, which according to the pack are 0.5mg nicotine.

I have a couple of mini protanks (for my itaste vv) and protanks (for my cube mod) as some of my eliquids that might be tank crackers but you cant really go wrong with some iclear16's they give a marvelous flavour and are hard wearing - cheap to replace the heads, which last for ages so they work out great value

They cost the same at myepack currently, so if they last about the same it would just come down to vape quality really. If it's really that much better, I could consider getting one of each but if I find myself preferring a lot of the possible tank-crackers, I'm not going to be able to use the iclears much, which is why the mini protanks seem like a better buy for me. If there's that much difference in vape quality though, I might have to reconsider and just restrict myself to avoiding certain flavours.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea Unfortunately, it seems myepack are OOS of the iclear16 (Clear) at the moment and as I don't need it to get started anyway but can just use the mini-Protank, I might as well get the iClear 16 and some replacement heads from FT, if anyone can point me to suitable listings on there. I also wanted to ask for estimates on how long the tanks and the heads will be likely to last me, so that I can roughly work out the costs and ensure I order enough heads to last me for a reasonable amount of time?

I reckon 6mg or 12mg would be OK. Starting higher than lower seems to be the thinking. 6mg might leave you susceptible to puffing away very "freely". Maybe a 10-a-day ex-smoker can advise more.

Clearomisers (tanks) can last ages. I've got some 12 months old. The heads can last from a week, probably two weeks for you. iClears heads can last weeks-months. I can't see you vaping more than 2ml a day (hopefully even less) so 10ml will last long enough to get another order in. I've just finished 3 x 10ml bottles from LT ecigs www.ltecigs.larsentilbrook.co.uk/and one bottle of Triple 5 from Dekang (myepack). That's 40ml in 27 days. 1.5ml a day (give or take).

Hi doveman and a very warm welcome I use both mini protanks and iclear 16s on a regular basis. The iclear heads do last much much longer than the mini protanks, but I do prefer the cooler, airier vape of the minis, particularly with fruity or minty flavours. Mr Lairey prefers the iclears. It's all down to personal preference at the end of the day, so I would recommend getting one of each to see what suits you, and keep the mini for potential tank crackers.

Hi doveman, Would be great to see you and you friends in Saturday, the more the merrier. I presume you've seen alanfinal s thread. It will be a lot easier to answer questions, I'll have an MVP with me and all the kit you've mentioned will be in someones pocket. Its often easier showing rather than explaining. We are off to the pub after and I am already due to be showing a couple of people how to recoil evods and protanks, you'll be more than welcome there too. Hope to see you at the BBC 11am-1pm. Phil.

myepack.co.uk/mini-protank-2-kit.html This is a good 1st kit not vv but will get you started while you wait for fasttech order it's the very 1st battery I used and lasted most of the day for me I bought a couple of mini protanks later as well. I still have both the battery and the mini protanks and still use them the protanks everyday the battery when I fancy and when I want to use as dripper. 5 spare coils are included and last for a long time in fact I have only got rid of one so far but I do tend to swap them out and clean them in my sonic cleaner.

Makes sense Probably when first switching from cigs to e-cigs it can take a bit of getting used to and be a bit stressful just because it's different, so I imagine going for the higher nic would help with getting over that hump and then I can try reducing it later.
