It's been raining on and off here, for three days. It seems it's always the heaviest when I am about to go outside.

Well I suppose living close to Manchester (aka "The Rainy City" ) we can expect no less , in fact it has rained incessantly round here for the last 3 days and nights , sleep is virtually impossible with the noise over the last couple of nights . It's rain free at present and quite peaceful , maybe another lull before another storm

Not been much of a summer has it, quite depressing the thought of winter and dark nights . . . still, at least we don't have to go outside now in the cold and wet for a 'fix'.

I saw that eBay thread. Very strange I slept thru the south of England hurricane in, um, was it 1987? (Gawd some of our members will not have been born then.) So sad we lost all those trees, and wildlife must have been ravaged scylla

I was doing 60 down a dual carriageway & just sweverd in time to miss a fallen tree on the inside lane back in 87 (was it)
