I had a very generous offer of a free carto removal tool from poochops and today the envelope arrived........... A4 envelope folded double with a sticker over the join. The yellow post-it note over my addy details is mine. A4 envelope opened by me. Picture of where the carto removal tool had been What appears to be a deliberate slicing of the envelope to gain access to the contents Ditto Thanks Si, for your very kind act, but seems to have been thwarted by some lowlife within the postal service

That's sad The worst of it is that whoever did that probably has no idea what it was in the envelope and has chucked it!

Greigster it could be that the sorting machine has sliced it open where it shows in the photo. If an item accidentally ends up trapped between the belts it can happen when there is something small and bulky inside the envelope. You could try contacting your local delivery office and ask them if they could check with the mail centre it went through to see if anything has been found. Griff

And I thought the Spanish postal service was bad. My Mum once sent me a package for my birthday, when it arrived it had been sellotaped up with the Spanish branded tape, didn't take much notice of it at the time. In the parcel I found a couple of tops and some slippers. So I rang my Mum to thank her, and she said: Mum: What about the chocolates? Me: What chocolates? Mum: The chocolates I put inside the slippers, they were special ones Me: There wasn't any chocolates Damned postie or post office had only opened up the package and nicked the damned chocolates Every parcel my Mum sent through after that, she put a big note on saying 'No chocolates inside'

Greigster there COULD be an innocent explanation... but I appreciate your first reaction. I have some great posties here, that go above and beyond, but I ordered a CD from a top rated seller on eBay before Xmas and it never arrived. The seller immediately sent another which did arrive. What happened to the first, anyones' guess. All I'm saying is that there are barstewards in every profession, but the vast majority are like us ... good and honest. Just don't take it out on the innocents.

i worked in several post office sorting stations a few years back, we had a contract to maintain the floors in them and i have never in all my years can across such a thieving bunch of arses in my life in one changing room we found hidden behind the lockers 478 opened letter/enverlopes (including birthday cards) 343 opened packages/jiffy envelopes 200 plus hard core porn mags 58 porns mags (mayfair penthouse) 79 dvd cases (porn and normal films)
this was reported to the management and we were told to ignore the thefts and keep quiet or lose the contract, we informed the police who were not at all interested in taking the mater further, also we informed the local paper and gave them proof in form of photos it was never reported in the paper
my conclusion is that the post office is as bent as they come and the sooner they lose the monopoly they hold and go bump the better

What a palaver, I'd have put it in a Jiffy bag but I only had a4 size and it seemed a bit of overkill tbh. I thought mrs poo had taped around the overlaps to secure it properly, if she did it's definitely been opened, but if not it's not beyond the realms of possibility the machine has burst it out. Bloody shame though they're expensive to buy for a tiny bit of plastic, sorry it didn't make it mate.

'sickos'... that includes the intended recipients! Plus why everyone is so scared of losing their job, especially management. Welcome to the 'new world' of me, me, me.

Well...
Just contacted the vendor that was sending me those 2 packages. He replied that adding mine would make a total of 6 that have gone missing so far...
RM what are you doing!

I just sent a lump of dog poo in a sealed container to myself and labelled the package - "Handle with Care - Delicate Platinum Necklace Inside".
