Hi all,
Would like to know wether or not this batteries are good/safe when compared to the AW's? Much cheaper then those AW's, and from what I've found out most suppliers are selling fake AW's anyway...
Cheers

They are good batteries Aldo although I do find that my genuine AWs last a tiny bit longer but that is made up for in the price of the Efests. Vape Escape sell genuine AWs but you're right to be wary as there does seem to be some fakes around. So go for genuine AWs if possible but much better to have Efests than fake AWs

Only thing i can chip in is they are both good batteries but DO buy from a reputable vendor, never scrimp and scrape on batteries...it does worry me sometimes when some go for the cheapest way possible to buy batteries.

well... I only buy from Vape Escape (unless Jason doesn't stock whatever I want to buy), so I don't think I'll run into problems like those! I'll probably give a couple Efest's a try on my next order anyway thanks EDIT: there's a portuguese store that was selling fake AW's, and according to them they didn't even know they were fakes o0

I have Efests, AW and Torchy 18350 IMRs and I just use whichever whenever, also can't really tell any difference. 99% of the time I use mech mods and I haven't blown either my hand or face of yet, so it's all good.

I use efest batteries and aw imr's as mentioned earlier I find the aw's last a little longer but both perform well and a reputable names when it comes to batteries for vaping.

Found this, which was quoted from an article on a US forum, Make of that what you will.... ''AW are the initials of a man Andrew Wan, who owns a China-based company which purchases batteries from the big boys (Panasonic, Samsung, etc) and performs quality tests. Once the battery passes the quality tests, they slap on a sexy shiny red wrapper and add their AW label to it. The reality is that internally, a battery labelled AW and a battery labelled Panasonic, Samsung, etc are the exact same thing. Aw has just run it through a foray of tests. Does it make their battery safer? Not really. Does it help ease the mind? Absolutely'' For an extra piece of mind, you could get a 2c fuse (for your un-protected batteries used in a mech mod) www.vapeescape.co.uk/Vaping-Spares/Li-Ion-Batteries/Vape-Safety-Fuse.htmlLike others have said in this thread - Efest/AW IMR from a reputable seller, is the wise choice. Label/date your batteries with a marker pen when you get them. Every so often, inspect your batteries, look for dints/tears/scratches. If you have ANY doubt about it, chuck it - get yourself a multimeter(see below) - cheap enough on fleabay. Also, get yourself a good charger, xtar/Nitecore Intelli. Personally, I wouldn't touch anything with 'ICR' in the description. Anything with 'IMR' or Manganese in the description, is my preferred choice. Even so, as long as you're not vaping at ridiculous sub ohms(below .4) and you have high drain batteries and never over discharge your battery (that's where your multimeter comes in) - remember though, if your battery is reading 3.5V at rest, it could be reading 3.3V when its working its nuts off in your mod - so once your battery reads 3.7/3.6 then its time to stick it on the charger (and you will prolong your overall battery life). Disclaimer lol...I'm sure there are plenty of people in vapeland, using 'ICR' batteries and if they use them sensibly, then they should be fine but, from the research that I have done 'ICR' is meant to be the more volatile chemistry, whereas, 'IMR' is meant to be the safer chemistry.

Fantastic advice stonethecrows... I've just started with mech mods, and keep popping my batteries in my evic to check the charge! It's going to take me a while to work out battery life, so I'm playing it safe if in doubt. I keep a track of which batteries were bought when with coloured stickers, but I'll have to remember to give them a close inspection each time I charge them.

The post you quote stonethecrows is correct up to a point. AW's do indeed use Panasonic cells (mainly I think). What is not quite correct is to say that any Panasonic battery would be the same, as they make different grades of cells. All would be safe and OK but their top grade ones are the best. I believe that Efest is also a label and they too use Panasonic/ Samsung etc. cells so far as I know.

dave I think you are right about the Efest batteries. The other thing is - although the 'AW IMR' (re-wrapped Panasonic) is recognised as being the safest/better performing batteries, I think there is another Panasonic (NCR 18650PD 2900mah) which has been upgraded to an even safer chemistry, like the IMR - Now labelled 'NCR 18650 PF 2900mah'. There are a few companies, who do a re-wrapped version of that (or you can just buy it in its original state, from somewhere cheaper lol)... My AW IMR batteries, outperform my Efest's...longevity wise, anyhow - but I'm always on the lookout for something better/newer.
