So I've got my mixing supplies in the post this week hopefully and have read about thinning vg with vodka, has anyone tried thinning with whisky? I like high vg mixes due to pg intolerance and thought it might go well with tobacco flavours, sounds good to me.

I think there's a little oil in whisk(e)y. If you buy a barrel of single malt then it goes cloudy when you add ice because of oil droplets freezing. Bottles have been 'cold filtered' because the Americans don't like their drinks cloudy. I don't know whether cold filtering removes the oil or does something else to it. If there's oil left it will gunge up your coil, and may not be good for you. You might be better with vodka and whisky flavouring.

Use Vodca and Gin, both great. (12%) Never tried Whisky, but hope you let us know what you think if you go ahead.

Been reading a bit about whisky and chill filtering which removes most of the oils apparently, so when my nic base arrives tomorrow I'll give it a try with a chill filtered brand (I'm sure I'll have one in my modest collection) and let you all know what it vapes like.

Yeah I tried this about a month ago as I didn't like the alcohol concentrates that I had, such as Whisky and Brandy. So put in about 5% of Glenmorangie, which has a strong 'vapour' when you drink it, so I thought the flavour could come through. Didn't do anything for my vape. The flavour of the whisky was completely lost for me. This site looked interesting www.swedishconnections.co.uk/essence/15/prestige-black-label-ultra-premium-essences They do flavourings to add to alcohol. However, there is an earlier post on AAEC from someone who was trying to replicate a Jack Daniels Bourbon and they were advised against using the concentrate due to certain ingredients.
