Hi all, So got my self all setup to have another go at coiling tonight and realised I've misplaced my kanthal! As it may never turn up think best buy some more and www.vape-atomizer-mesh.com/ seems the cheapest, but confused by options. Don't remember what weight I had, bought from shop in brum but cheaper online and want to try some different stuff out. Fancy having a go with ribbon wire too.... but the options are even more confusing! 0.25 kanthal is in the basket for my protank coils, any suggestions? Thanks, Rich

I have no experience of micro coils in a protank but for all my rba micro coils I use 0.3 kanthal as it gives a much stronger coil which is less likely to distortion when feeding the cotton wick ... 10 wraps around a 2mm drill bit gives around 1.8 ohms.

As there is space and using cotton was thinking needed stronger wire, cheers, added to basket:)

I will be updating this guide soon, as it is slightly outdated. I am having great results with AWG 28 now so need to illustrate this. I intend to revamp it to include many variations including different wicks, mesh wicks etc as well as many more Kanthal wire thicknesses and a more indepth look at Kanthal Wire, Nicrome and the NR variety too. I think a dedicated blog will be needed for this info though hehe.

Perhaps you could include info relevant to micro coils eg the resistance that each wire gauge will yield around the common 2 mm drill bit ... a lot of folk are forsaking normal silica builds in favour of micro coil and cotton.

I don't often have it on the largest vent hole as I find there's a good selection to choose. I also use a wide bore ss tip.

You should be able to get rid of the whistle by moving the afc ring a touch, just changing the alignment of the two holes can get rid of it I was using .45mm about 7-9 wraps around 2mm getting .9 ohms on my atomic, just rebuilt it with 7 of .32 around a 1.2mm and getting .7 ohms - a much quicker heat up and still a fairly tough coil. Can't remember what i used in my trident, not used it since i got the atomic as the trident don't play nice on a nemesis (both clones - i'm a cheapskate )

Cheers for info on weights, want a tough coil so doesn't get damaged but hadn't thought about heat up time. Edit.. just realised that you ment closing the hole... Doesn't do it for me using both holes, just when using one... Mines a v2 so probably slightly different shape.

boyofford I don't do dual coils mate, i always lay my mod down so i'd get leakage and that upsets me, so i go for a single Does the v2 have thread all the way up the 510 connector? The problem with the v1 is that it don't have much thread and the nemesis threads are also short, the two end up just going through each other and the atty ends up being a bit lose if you know what i mean. You should be good with .3, i found mine on ebay from germany as it comes on a nice spool. I got some from the mesh co. and their spool was way too small with the wire all over the place, bulging out over the edge. As soon as i removed the tape the whole lot sprung out everywhere

Just had a look and v2 doesn't have thread all the way up the 510 either, will take pic when at home and post on here for you. Could you use a airflow controller inbetween the nemesis and the trident maybe just to allow for incompatiable threads? Just had look on ebay, plenty of stuff but bit pricey as want some of few types to try, so far thinking .25,3 maybe a heaviour one 0.35? and some ribbon. Might be bit annoying if falls off the spool though!

It is great, find myself wondering if should buy a spare so can use if let wool get burnt instead of having to find a moment to rewick. Not sure if would want another type, all reviews have been great for v1 compared to other rdas which are mixed, though didn't see review for v2 which i've got. May get couple of v1s for comparison of slowtech when get around to it, sure theyll be great but look much more of a pain to seperate.
