Scylla, I think that as Andy was a 40/50 a day smoker, he may need the 30mg? However, Andy, as Scylla says, if you do find it too strong, you can cut it with VG.

Well in my day, Chrissie, I had to make do with 16-18mg max, as you well know, so I'm just jealous scylla x

We used to have to make do with so many things Scylla - not even any juice available to buy in the UK when I stated - only very expensive prefilled cartridges

Same here Scylla - got loads of super-mini prefilled carts. From memory, they where about £40.00 for 50 - & I got through 2-3 a day

Hi Scylla, Chrissie All I've got to go on is these SkyCigs which are supposed to be 12mg. I did a little experiment last week and actually counted the number of good drags I got out of an average Royals straight - 5 straights averaged 9 drags (no, not one after the other!!!). Now if I did 9 drags on a SkyCig with a normal cart two things happened: 1. my lips burst into flame 'cos it gets too hot. 2. I needed a straight every now and then to "top up". It's a little different with the SkyCig cartomisers though - when I bought the Sky gear I bought 2 spare batteries - so now I can have 2 cigs on the go and two batteries on charge. I can easily do without the straights at all now THANK GOD! Tugging away on one Sky until it gets a bit hot then swapping to the other for a bit does work for me, and 4 cartomisers of 12mg gets me through 24 hours no problem, but it's expensive, and it's abusive to the batteries. So I figure that 30mg is a good place to start, as for me it's all about the nicotine right now! The idea is that if I like the flavours of Cherry and the Aniseed I've ordered then I'll bang in an order for 30ml lower strength plus a pic 'n mix 'cos leaving the nicotine aside for a moment, I quite enjoy this flavoured vaping lark - with decent gear I reckon it'll be even nicer! Thanks again

Hi Andy No offence to the SkyCig but they are in a different world to the larger devices. If you stick a drip tip on a filled cartomiser, you can take as many deep draws as you like and depending on the liquid you are using, you'll give in before the device does 30mg is a high point to start at in my opinion and I usually recommend that people start with a medium (16-20mg) and then they have play in both directions. You can always weaken it a bit with glycerine if it's too much, but you will lose a bit of flavour.

Well we'll give it a shot - don't forget where I was a few days ago - 35 years of basically 3 packs of straights a day or 75gram of rolling tobacco a week

Hi Andy, and welcome to Vaping! I too am a noob at this and started out with a Skycig kit Pretty much came to the same conclusion as you re: price, battery life, nicotine hit etc. Though I never had 2 on the go at once, heh. Anyways, the kind folks here (thanks y'all once again) pointed me at a Riva 510 as well, and it's bleedin excellent, if you'll excuse my French If you're interested, there's very good info here re: nicotine equivalence between baccy and vapour: www.e-cigarette-forum.com/index.php/beginner-ecigarette-tutorial-2.htmlAlso, once your Riva arrives, you'll find that your Sky cartomizers will fit on your Riva no problem. So don't chuck your used ones out, even though they're sold as disposable, they can easily be refilled then cleaned out and reused. There's a good 'how to' here: The guy's moustache is cool too BTW congrats on making the switch man ! Later, John

Thanks John. I wasn't sure if the sky cartomisers would fit a 510 or not, so it's really useful to know that they do so. We can now pass on that info to others that have bought Sky e-cigs
