The XXL DC Cartos are very good indeed. Still prefer my CE3 Smokeymisers though! Later... Can't disagree there - CE3s are great But I find I get more strange looks using them when out and about, especially when vaping some thick brown juice - you know, those looks that give away the suspicion of class A paraphernalia Then again, for me at least, the taste of Grizies 666 is good in a CE3 but different and even nicer in one of these XXL DCs - I find CE3s are a little cool at times.

It's always good to read what others think of the newer Carto's on the market Andy, I've fallen behind a bit now with some of the new widgets . . . it's an impossibilty to try absolutely everything new, unless you've got limitless funds. So, thank you. Hi Perpy - my Mrs. was thinking I'd found secret limitless funds with the amount of vaping bits 'n bobs I've been getting through these last few weeks I can tell you! I only bit the bullet with the ProVari 'cos it was a good deal off a certain board member , but what with popping batteries like they were going out of fashion, loosing control of my taste buds and various other calamities it made sense to get it when the opportunity presented itself. The array of 'stuff' out there is bewildering - or at least it is to me and it can be a bit of a steep learning curve; but with this boards input and help from folk like Jase and Kev, I've found a combo that suits me down to the ground. The funny thing is, this vaping mularky is more serious than the damn tobacco smoking that it's replaced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's great to hear people's opinions on PV accessories Andy, especially good ones! I don't think my PV would be up to the job for using a carto like that unfortunately, but maybe one day, when I can afford an expensive model. Hi Anne - they work just as good on an Ego/Riva type battery - I've tried it on both. You might have to clean it out a bit sooner though as you are stuck at 3.4 volt so might loose a bit of taste after a couple of days constant use.

A Great BIGGGGG THUMBS UP from me for these ew XXL DC cartos from Jason www.vapeescape.co.uk/dual%2Dcoil%2Dxxl%2Dcartomisers%7E262I don't really feel justified in doing a review as I've not been vaping that long, but I've got to say that these cartos are just brilliant. Tons of flavour and a really great vape all round on the ProVari at any rate. Since getting the PV I've been really happy with the extra long Boge LR Steel cartos; but Jason sent me a comp one of these XXL DCs last week. So I loaded it up with 666 juice and got - NOTHING except an E1 display - guess who was on 3.8 volts! When fresh these XXL DCs need to be on 3.4 volts or they just won't fire up. A great vape at 3.4. It's not been off the PV since I got it and the resistance has gone up a bit so I'm now on 3.8volts and it's still going strong - but it could do with a clean so I've just ordered a few more! They hold a staggering amount of juice and have a really nice small whistle tip - the only whistle tip that I like to be honest - all the others I've tried just feel way too big. Over the last few weeks I've tried nearly every carto I could get me hands on - but I won't be buying anything else from now on - imo something else would have to be really good to beat these XXL Dual Coils. Just my to'penorth opinion for anyone who is as confused as I was about the plethora of carto options out there.................

Hi Dave - a belated 'Hello' from darkest Cheshire I started with Riva, then switched to EgoT batteries, but have since bitten the bullet and invested in a ProVari - it looks expensive; but for what you get for your money it isn't really. That's if you can cope with looking like you're sucking on a posh screwdriver! If you want to stick with a Riva/Ego format but you are getting that big throat hit can I suggest you try something like a CE3; something I found calmed the throat hit down a bit.

Hi Trying - I feel for you I really do - as Jason and Kev will testify I've pinged more than a few batteries.
After the last time it happened I switched to a mechanical to alleviate the problem - seemingly a costly option, but in reality it's got to be the cheaper way to go.
I don't want to confuse the issue for you, but if your financials will stretch then it's an option worthy of serious consideration.

As I understand it you need to be careful about where you plug a pass thru in because any USB socket is connected to either a bus or bus segment, and you need to consider the total load on each bus. The Cloud 9 pass thru needs a minimum of 1300mA current draw - if you have other peripherals attached to the same bus or bus segment then a bus overload may ensue - and PC World may well be your next stop. I have my pass tru stuck in the front of a Dell Dimension 9200 - the two front USB2 ports are on an isolated bus separate from the other 4 ports on the motherboard back panel and the other 8 on 2x 4 port PCI cards. I wouldn't dream of pluging it in anywhere else but the front panel because it doesn't have to share bus load. A USB external hub will still form part of an internal bus - so be careful. If you have front USB ports pop the cover off your machine and follow the cable from the back of the port to the motherboard and check that they are on a separate board connector - your motherboard spec sheet would be even better. If you have a monitor with spare USB ports and they are active my suggestion would be NOT to use them for a pass thru. If you have a spare port on the back then personally I wouldn't risk using that either. There's a lot of info about USB voltages and loads on Wikipedia. The fact is that I lost batteries due to a shorting CE3, a short which developed apparently for no reason, on what had been a perfectly serviceable clearo. If that same short had developed on a pass thru there's no telling what would have happened. But I've taken both front ports out on this Dell machine over the years just through hot-swapping external hard disks and such - they go for weeks without working then they suddenly spring back to life - whether or not they'd stand a dead short I don't know; but if they did blow completely I'm sure the PC as a whole would survive. And as sure as eggs is eggs I'll never plug this or any other pass thru into my Mac! I'm no expert but please don't plug a pass thru into a computer 'willy-nilly'and please be carefull what you stick on it - Yes I was vaping from an LR carto but it was on low volts and very gingerly - you'd be safer using a standard resistance carto. Just my to'penorth for what it's worth

??? Where else would I put it other than in the new Batteries and Passthroughs section And next time your brew will have more than sugar in it Yeah yeah yeah I'd swear that the Batteries & Passthroughs section used to be called just Batteries until very recently Jase! But then again my memory ain't what it used to be...

Thanks for the recommendation, Andy, but your link leads to the cartos and I can't find the blummin passthru anywhere > Please give me a red face by posting a link .................... scylla Sorry Scylla, it's here www.vapeescape.co.uk/ego%2F510%2Dusb%2Dpassthrough%2D%2A%2Avariable%2Dvoltage%2A%2A%7E241It's in the wrong section on Jasons website if you ask me ??? BTW - I seem to remember a thread about a pic of Jason somewhere too - let me say that breaking a camera isn't on my list of things to do in a hurry. To be honest you are best looking at his reflection in a polished shield, rather like his name-sake of Argonauts fame did when Hydra-hunting. Mind you I'm no oil painting myself Jason - don't fret matey, I'll get me coat!!

Yesterday I bought an eGo style pass thru from Jason and I'm sitting here now with it coupled to a dual coil LR www.vapeescape.co.uk/dual%2Dcoil%2Dclear%2Dor%2Dstainless%2D%5B5%2Dpack%5D%7E121and all I can say is BRILLIANT Vapes great at the lowest volts setting (blue LED) - not too hot, not too cool, no crackling and tonnes of vapour. I'm not trying to do a review here, just letting everyone know that if you've got a few spare 'squids' it's really worth a punt on this combo.

............................ which brings be nicely onto my next subject... these ego type batteries are great for what they are but i think a mechanical mod is the way to go... initial outlay is higher but will save cash in the long run... and as its mechanical there is nothing that can go wrong hope this helps in some way Andy Thanks Tye - by mechanical are you talking Don, ProVari etc: not quite aufait with all the terminology yet!

as Jason said the ones with the bright blue button is what i had for my first starter kit and my batteries died in much the same way by being conected to what i thought was a faulty atty... but now im not too sure.... my second kit from LF was the white light button and they are working great ...touch wood Tye - what do you use on your eGo batts - attys cartos or clearos - and which ones? Am thinking of trying the dual coil cartos, basically 'cos they hold a bit more juice than the Boge ones I've got which are 35mm long - but again any feedback gratefully taken onboard. I need to get this lot sorted once and for all - think I'm going to get a passthru aswell - is the eGo style one or a Stick best? Again, thanks for the replies folks
